But it’s true. We did OK, especially first half. Not a vintage performance or anything like that, but we’ve played a lot worse in games like that and got the points.
It’s the mentality - they just collapse at the slightest adversity. I don’t know what the answer is to this.

The fact that we appear to be not able to defend, press or pass anymore is what gets me.
Where has it come from, its more or less the same squad as last season, yet we’ve lost the ability to do simple things.
Has to come from the formation or tactics, players just don’t become shite.
As much as the playera are letting him down, the manager has to take the blame.

I do wonder what the data nerds are seeing here. Is this a Klopp at Dortmund type situation where we’re not getting the results we deserve or is it that we’re a mile off last year. The injuries now stacking up don’t help either.
I genuinely thought between their first and second there was only one team in it. Then we get done on a break and fall apart from there on in. If we’d got a second when we were on top, or even fairly quickly after they got theirs I’m pretty sure we win that. Somehow though we look to have had a pasting.
I don’t know if a manager has ever turned round such a slump but this is as poor a run as I can ever remember and we’re showing zero signs of turning it round. But how do you sack a manager less than 6 months after spending upwards of £400m on players for him? And is it just him who needs to go or have the transfer lot failed in their recruitment?
Horrible place to be in. Made all the worse by watching Arsenal walk to a title.

I try not to be reactionary and the dude won the PL six months ago but 9 defeats in 12 is unacceptable and he seems to have no solution. Genuinely wondering how long this can continue.

That’s my assessment too. Football narratives are created by scorelines, but we really should have had the game won by half time.
After the second goal their heads just go. It’s awful to watch them just collapse like that.
