Club Brugge, Gala, Juve or A Madrid in the last 16
He’s Mr Roboto
Aside from the Frimpong injury, I thought that went rather well. Main thing is avoiding the playoffs given the number of injuries we already have.
I was really pleased to see another set piece goal. Something positive on the training pitch there.
I would say we seemed to get something from most of our set pieces tonight though I missed the first 15 so they may have been shit up to then.
It’s too bad we have to play in the Premier League. It could prevent us from winning the Champions League.

With making the last 8 we can concentrate on the league and the FA cup which will allow us to get some of the injured back.
Entertaining match. That should do some good. Ego booster.
2 set piece goals Macca’s header from the corner
Very nice win and lovely to see us pile on a few goals. Sad to see Frimpong get injured. The poor lad - and us by extension, can’t catch a break at the moment. He has been robust with his injury record before moving here. Ugh. Hopefully we sign a defender in the next few days as we are woefully short at the back.
Still, with Endo acquitting himself well, and Gravenberch being versatile, we might keep our powder dry until the summer. I would disagree, but I think that’s what we will do.
As for the CL we regrouped and qualified easily in third spot. We will see who we get. Even if it is a good team, we have shown this season that while our form has been patchy at best, we can rise to the occasion against good teams.
The strength of the Premier League seems to be coming through too, with 5 of the 8 qualifying teams from the Prem. At some point we will likely be facing one or two of them, if we want to go far, so we will need to improve against the Prem sides ![]()
We really need to do something. I don’t really mind whether it’s a full back, Centre back or midfielder. It’s a matter of bodies now.
@LewisSteele_
That was a bizarre presser. They’ve won 6-0 but I’ve walked out the room with a sense of negativity. Someone somewhere has clearly wound up Arne Slot
I didn’t see the presser, but Slot is fighting for his life as Liverpool head coach, and the presumptive nominee is very much available. Lots of whispers, and it’s not hard to see how an angry siege mentality sort-of-thing might be creeping in.
If that’s what it is, good! It might serve us well for the remainder of the season.
I have no idea what to make of the game we played.
No idea at all. It’s an amazing result. But how good is it and where are we now ? I don’t know.
It feels very strange. I watched this with a friend of mine, we saw our team cruising. A formidable victory. But both me and Terje sat there, talking about what thus result really means and we are clueless.
Then an hour ago, we noticed the Atletico vs Glimt game and we were like WTF and started to talk about that.
How good were we really. I don’t fucking know. Feels so wrong this. A 6-0 win, there should be nothing else on my mind but gushing about how good we are, but I have been burned so many times this season.
(I also truly fucking hated Arne’s claim that going out against PSG helped us win the league last season, and I would normally be much more aggrieved about that had it not been for the fact that we did in fact win 6-0).
No sweaty palms watch.
Happy about the results. Happy about the fringe players getting minutes and did great…all they need are more minutes on the pitch, not just 5 minutes here, 15 minutes there. Happy about the set pieces are shaping up a bit better in the last few matches.
Mac Allister … so so so close on getting a perfect hattrick (header, left and right foot), but not to be.
Not happy with Frimpong’s injury, not too happy about how we still let the opponents ran many yards through our midfield straight towards our defense.
Now, back to the bread and butter.
At least there was a reason why they ran at our midfield though I think we actually dealt with it well and they rarely got to our 18 yard box.
The problem I have is they were just going for it, having fun are we not entirely sure this isn’t a confidence issue because none of them looked gassed tonight eithier. It’s just such an odd performance and the Marseille one at least reflected some bits we had been seeing. Maybe Slot’s just gone fuck it go out there and just attack.
Anyhow 13m in one night
Our next opponent could be the winner of Juve vs Atletico Madrid or Club Brugge vs Galatasaray…
Bar for Club Brugge, the rest is quite formidable…
After Ekitike scored and did the “take a bow” celebration, I think I saw that he did a “K” sign" afterwards. Probably for his thoughts with Ibou and family.
@Bekloppt is turning Japanese again. I really think so.
‘Arigato’ is the Japanese for ‘thank you’.
I thought that was an H-E hand signal, but maybe you’re right.
Brugge is an anagram of Bugger.
I hope that helps.
