Post match: Liverpool v Real Madrid (UCL 4/11/25 8pm)

Great result, great performance, good intensity and great quality.
Individually all players were great, but Bradley, Szobo, Macca and Wirtz were great

Been fucking telling you all for months. Posters here saying he’ll never be Liverpool standard. Still only 22 and fucking destroyed “Vini Jr” tonight!

Yeah another we should have sold.

I bet Bellingham hates Grav, he bossed him the whole game.

Huge win this. We defeated a side that was in form over the weekend and now a side that was not just in form over the season, but one of the favorites of the tournament.

Every single player was immense. Anfield beautiful and our 12th man. Referee was good in not falling for the RM players antics. Loved how we got an exact challenge from Bradley on Vini as that of Mbappe last season. Bradley is a fcking big game player. Vini almost looked he’s going to cry at the end. Macca back to his best which is making such a huge difference. Ekitike and Wirtz were so good and can easily play across front three. It’s all going to turn out pretty well. All we need is patience!

And a word on Slot. Hope he’s converted some doubters to believers. YNWA! The way it’s supposed to be.

Bradley is an interesting player. Ordinarily you wouldnt go out of your way to praise his defending, but in these big games he’s shown a real love for the defending side of the performance, almost to mithering bastard levels that he’s going get his enjoyment not from running up and down the wing but in making the forward he’s up against cry in frustration. It’s a real old school attitude to big games from a FB

Cortois for man of the match. Without him it would have been 5 - 0.

Madrid’s second best start to a season ever.

And we spoiled it.

Shame.

I thought our midfield industry on and off the ball killed Real, all 3 were exceptional, Grav was outstanding in breaking up attacks for me

The result flatters Real. In all honesty, without Courtois, we’d be talking about a 4-0 win.

The most pleasing thing for me, beyond some fantastic individual performances, was the collective shape of the team tonight. Super-solid at the back, combative in midfield and dangerous going forward.

Men of the Match for me: Wirtz, Bradley and our big goalscorer! But the whole team was great!
:+1:

I also think that Macca was/is part of the missing ingredient to get Wirtz playing

Theo Walcott proves anyone can be a pundit.

‘I wanted Wirtz to work harder tonight than he has been.’
