Post match: Liverpool v Real Madrid (UCL 4/11/25 8pm)

Won a lot of duels:

Bradley vs Vini
Mbappe vs konate or vd
Their midfield was completely overrun by ours
Courtois kept this scoreline respectable
I love our midfield trio!

Good night.
Guess this ‘bald fraud’ can stay until city at least

1-0 against RM and it is all about their goalkeeper. Pleasing.

Virg is so calm, and is rinsing Rooney to his face.

Classic.

Kinda tough to only vote for 3. There wasn’t a bad performance amongst them.

Weird to think everyone was griping about the Cup of Cocoa less than a week ago. Funny old game.

Big 3 points for us there. Right, I’m off to bed. What happened to my cocoa.

FT: Liverpool 1-0 Real Madrid

Liverpool

Liverpool forward Alexis Mac Allister, speaking to Amazon Prime: “I think it was a good game against a really good team. A win, but we know it doesn’t mean anything - the experience last season, we finished first and then after that we were out quite early.”

On Thibaut Courtois: “He is a fantastic keeper - we all know. He had a few saves, so again I think he is a really good keeper, but today I think we were better and deserved to win.”

Think that’s been vindicated evidently allowed them to work on things on the training pitch also sticking them in the front row in the rain might have focused a few minds. Your not bothered running around in it but sitting in it meh.

Virg rinsing rooney.

Fell short of calling him a fat granny shagger though :joy:

Conor Bradley made the most recoveries (7), won 100% of his tackles (3/3) and completed the most passes into the final third (10) for Liverpool.

This time last week, I don’t think any of us thought we’d beat Villa AND Real Madrid. Brilliant performance and Courtois saved them from a hiding.
The only way this could be bettered is, I watched the Madrid game last year in Barbados.

Yes for how good he was defensively he was also excellent on the ball, getting match fit is helping.

I do remember a certain poster being confident and mentioning that we do better against teams that got toe to toe :winking_face_with_tongue:

Yeah. More consistency & less injuries and Frimpong may have a really good challenge getting in this side.

Wait until Saturday and it’s three wins on the bounce…

If your club is in crisis and your coach is in turmoil, you don’t beat Real Madrid in the Champions League so confidently.
