Ancellotti can FO with his counter attacking football

He did check his shoulder earlier, just didn’t react to Vini, which is probably worse than not checking at all.

We only lost 4 matches (one was second leg knockout win). Won the League Cup. Won the FA cup while knocking out $hitty at Wembley.

Went on an absurd run to get back on the title race, amassing over 90 points, despite shenanigans such as the Harry “never been sent off for 10 years” Kane and Jota stopping so it’s not a penalty.

Got through the hardest CL group at a canter. Yesterday’s final, we came up against a keeper making a couple of world class saves, and a Jose Mourinho classic of a non-football sucker punch, that on another day, we’d have won.

As Klopp said, we’re all disappointed, but we’ll be ready again

Just have time to post, really feel bad for the lads, they tried, but it’s hard to fault them when the other team’s goalie puts on a red cape and go Superman. Tbh I felt worst on last Sunday when we loss the Prem to City by a point. Especially, when Villa gave us that hope. I think had one or two bounces went our way today, and we manage to go ahead first, we would’ve won it. However, it wasn’t to be tonight. I feel our boys played way too many games this season, and most of them were just mentally and physically fatigue. 2 out of 4 trophies is pretty good, I know it’s probably not as special as winning the Prem or Champs League, but it’s still an incredible season from our boys. Let’s all come out and celebrate with the lads tomorrow and give them a proper recognition they deserve.
The boss is here for another 4yrs, so there’ll be more finals to come, nobody likes to lose, but it is through losing finals that hardens you for future challenge.
I think we have a very capable group here, and like what the Gaffer said, it’s more optimistic this time around then 2018. With some new blood I think we’ll be challenging on all front next season again. The boys really deserve a nice relaxing summer to recharge and come back strong for next yr.

By the way, what a complete shit show it was at the beginning for our fans. Unbelievable how our fans were treated, it could’ve been a very ugly situation if people started pushing and the pepper spray didn’t help at all . Happy nobody got hurt.

Cheer in the boys tomorrow

Mo wanted revenge but failed to score with 5 attempts on target.:neutral_face:

In a football game, Midfield is where the battle is won and lost. Today, our midfield won in possession but failed very horribly in incisiveness.

We had literally no one who can bulldoze through their midfield and launch hard and accurate long shots. In our starting midfield, we have a great passer, a great defensive midfielder and a captain whose greatest attribute is hounding down the opposition.

On matches against teams that attacks us proactively, it works like a damn treat but it is utterly useless(and even possibly counter-productive) against low blocks.

Thiago has no chance against deep defences if the opposing defence is so deep that our forwards has no space to run into. The DM who is fabinho will not be able to join in the attack for the fear of a counter.

As for our captain, when he goes wide, he tends to cross but our forwards are short that negates the effects of his crosses if it hits anyone at all. When asked to break thru’ the middle and launch a long shot, he cannot do it due to the lack of technique and physical strength.

Let’s put it this way. If Henderson has 75%-85% of Adama Traore’s upper body strength, this man would be a fucking beast. No one can stop him when he goes on that run in the middle and Casemiro will have a much harder time against him.

Now, let’s look at Naby Keita. Keita is slightly better than Hendo on this but has literally no upper body strength and a very poor long shot technique.

He is more of an agility player rather than a physical player offensively. The thing about agile players is that they can skip one or possibly two challenges and play the pass or go forward.

Playing the pass for our team is not possible for 90% of the time when the opposing defensive line is so deep that our attackers will run out of space before they can do anything.

That leaves us with going forward in the midfield. Keita can break thru’ the lines but when he gets pulled slightly from the back like how all shithouse teams do, his balance will fold due to a lack of upper body strength. When he does gets forward successfully without being shit-housed or being crowded out, he can only hit the target within the six yard box which is probably the case for any professional footballer.

How about outside the six yard box? In all his games with us, I can only remember one goal from outside the six yard box and that’s it. I cannot remember if he even has 10 long shots on target for one season at all. That is the reason why some teams shithouse us by being a low-block team because they know by screening Thiago and Fabinho throughly, our midfield is next to useless.

The only players that has perfected the craft of using agility to skip past those challenges and getting forward effectively to a great effect are Xavi, Iniesta, David Silva, Bernardo Silva and Lionel Messi. Honourable mentions goes out to Toni Kroos, Luka Modric and Thiago Alcantara.

If we manage to find a midfielder that has strength and the ability to launch a thunder cunt from outside the box, teams will think twice about low-blocking us. I think we found that player but that cunt is going to the winner of the match tonight.

The morning after the night before……

Felt the whole team played ok but just lacked that bit of magic and extra 10% that you need to win a final.
No one was really poor but no one was really great.
Thought Konate had a good game (bar that 1st half fuck up with Ali)and I didn’t really notice anyone else and I think that sums up our performance.
The goal is a scuffed shot that finds its way to the back post and people want to blame someone but I don’t think you can. It’s just one of those,
I thought our set pieces were really poor and the subs came on and couldn’t get going. Nabby was his frustrating self.

I think this performance was just one too many after a long season. The quad quest has taken a lot out of us and in the last few games have been leggy.

Everyone (outside of Lfc ) moans that Jurgen never takes the league and fa cup seriously but you can see why as later on in the season it catches up. We’ve won those now and it was great as it completes the set but I’d sacrifice those every year for the PL and CL from now on.
It was nice to win 2 but it’s cost us the 2 we really want every year.
It’s only going to get harder next season with City spending money like confetti.

I think it’s time to have a squad revamp. We need a midfield shake up and maybe it’s time to break up the forward line who have been fantastic.

My mate said well you didn’t win the quad (and although I never felt we would) I just said no, be we had a fucking good time trying to.

Enjoy the summer lads and recharge the batteries cos come the 6th of Aug……we go again……

It’s reached the point now where the only way you expect him to score is with a tap-in. Let’s hope we see the old Mo back next season after a good rest.

I don’t get the Salah criticism. He forced two world class saves and was the most threatening player throughout. It’s not as if he didn’t show up. This was his best game in a good while.

Courtois just happen to have one of the best goalkeeping performances in the history of finals.

Merseyside Police officers said, the fans behaviour was exemplary at the turnstiles, in shocking circumstances. The worst European match, they have worked or experienced and that the fans were not late.

I’m utterly gutted, that’s not a good Real team at all, never seen a team walk so much… but when you see what happened before and after to our fans our performance pales into insignificance…

We regroup and go again…

What a ride red men…

As everything is timed to perfection for our boys…eating ,sleeping, training, diet, warm up, warm down…and the fact that everything was disrupted before the game…and the thought of family members caught up in the disgusting set up outside the stadium…does anyone else think this may have disrupted our routines for our game…

Real Madrid took their chances, we didn’t. I reckon if Mo or Sadio scored earlier, it would have changed the dynamics of the game. We would have won, i believe.

Don’t think we would have scored if the game was played for another 2 hours. Defensively they didn’t give anything away, we had to work very hard for our chances. Maybe in hindsight we should have played them at there own game, dropped back and stopped trying to force the issue. Would have fancied our chances at pens. But that’s not our way. What a season, one point and one goal away from immortality, that’s pretty good.

Time to look at hotels in Istanbul then…

How can you say that ? Only the brilliance of Courtois stopped us from winning by 2 or 3 goals. We were good enough against almost any other keeper in the world.
