It is the 1st time I saw that angle as well, however that was still my opinion from the other angles but wasn’t as clear as the angle you showed
Just for clarity, when I said it wasn’t a foul, I meant Mane didn’t do anything wrong. It appears I and a few others were right.
is it me or does it seem like EVERY VAR DECISION GOES AGAINST US??? this means its a coordinated conspiracy! we have to push, to sue, for open mics during VAR decisions.
Legit top of the league.
It’s just you.
With all our injuries we are not playing well but are top of the premier league. Next weekend will be very important to see how we defend.
He’s gonna say yada yada ya and then claim a personal attack.
Seen it in TIA some random poster gives his credentials as to why they know more than you. I played college football (in the US this would American football to the rest of the world surely) to quite a high level or I played to a high level in an amateur league so don’t argue with me.
To be honest Mane shouldn’t have had a chance to get near the ball looking at his starting point but he was turbo charged. The West Ham defender(cart horse) was slow to react but tried to shield the ball from Mane. The keeper came out at Mane’s feet so there was no way a collision could be avoided.
Was it a foul on anyone by anyone? For me? No, it was 3 players going for the ball. If there was a foul it was the West Ham player on Mane. He leaned on him which caused Mane’s foot to miss the ball.
Why all the whinging? Because we all knew what the VAR decision would be. Was it the worst VAR decision to go against us? No. But we’ve had so many bad blatant ones go against us, it’s easy to see why most of us feel agrieved.
So, no agenda there then.
Yes, kavanagh must have seen it - my earlier clip is taken from the VAR footage.
However, friend wasn’t shown it in the pitch-side video:
[clip at 1.5x speed to comply with Giphy 15 second rule]
I have no idea why he wasn’t shown the action from the other angle. If the ref isn’t given all the available evidence it is little wonder he comes to the wrong conclusion.
Which begs the question, who took the decision not to show the incident from all available angles?
P.S.
I knew what you meant; my reply was a poor attempt at irony. I apologise if it caused any misunderstanding.
I think its obvious to be honest. VAR is still a human decision despite our initial belief that it would take that element out of the equation.
I am not suggesting conspiracy, that becomes emotive and complicated and I dont have the evidence people require to prove it…
However,
I am utterly convinced that the LiVARpool narrative is working very much against us now.
Its akin to Fergie damning Suarez by labelling him a diver, you make people believe the narrative so that their actions reflect that. The media ‘joked’ about Liverpool getting decisions, so VAR officials dont want to be painted with the same brush.
Whereas in reality Liverpool really have not benefitted to a fraction of the extent attributed to them.
I know supporters on here argued vehemently that Mane fouled on Saturday. But he didnt. The second angle suggests penalty…so why was that not shown? I think we really all know…
Lets be clear, Mane was brought down in the box earler and no mention of possible penalty review? Wonder why?
See the Cascarino piece in the Times above??
Salah is now going to be demonised like Suarez. By a fuckwit failure like Cascariono…
Isn’t he the dickhead who changed his name to O’Cascarin so that he could play for Ireland?
Of the three incidents I thought that
- Mané wasn’t a penalty. Defender did well to get his foot in front of Sadio whilst playing the ball.
- Salah’s was obviously a penalty.
- Jota’s ruled out goal could have gone either way, even if Mané did commit a foul. We’ve seen quite a few goals not ruled out by VAR even when there’s been a foul in the build up. Were Brighton on the wrong end of one last night?
As to whether Mané committed a foul at all I don’t think he did on Fabianski (but it would normally have been given as one due to goalkeepers having special protected status or something) but possibly did on the defender (but these are often let go).
I don’t think it was unreasonable to rule it out. I might be a little less philosophical about it if it had ended up being the winning goal!
I just don’t understand how Kevin Friend was not shown the incident from all relevant angles. It’s like presenting a case in a court of law and withholding a vital piece of evidence thus preventing the court from arriving at the correct verdict. It really does beggar belief, but the officials are never forced to explain their decisions.
You know the game is ruined when whether we win or lose, the discussion is around the incompetent referring (and rightly so) and their constant endeavour to fck us over, intentionally or not.
Earlier it could have been put down to pure incompetence, now it’s technology enabled incompetence.
I’ve got a mate who is a WHU fan and he pretty much said the same thing to me yesterday. He was fuming about the game. He has been ranting for 2 years now about the “agenda” against them when they play the big teams
Every post match thread exactly the same. Win, lose or draw we’ve been done over by the officials. Maybe it’s time we introduced technology to help referees. Something like a video replay system where contentious incidents could be viewed from every possible angle so that the right decision could be made. I’m sure it wouldn’t ruin the game as a spectacle at all and we could spend every post match thread just talking about the football.
It has already ruined the game, completely fucked it up.
Did you point out the incorrect decisions made in favour of his team?
I think you and him would get on really well
Ah he is your mate, you keep him!!
