Waxing lyrical about the Wolves defence when it was our wasteful play that made it easy in them until the goals
My like is for the Tierney comment. He booked Stefan and one of their players for mistimed tackles which to me are part of the game. Yet he let countless shirt and arm pulling, and all out grappling go on all over the pitch without so much as a warning.
As for our goal that was ruled out? In what other profession apart from reffing can you miss something that is âclear and obviousâ and not face a sanction from higher authority? Youâd at least expect some kind of re-training? But no, Tierney will be bringing his brand of ineptitude to a Prem game this weekend no doubt.
I was disappointed not to hear Trentâs song being sung when he left the field. NuĆez was sung off and Bobby sung on but nothing for Trent?
Dunno Commando canât vouch for that, canât hear a thing from the streams I watchâŠnot that Iâm too concerned, more interested in the performance.
But Iâm sure Trentâs all on social media today seeing all the positive comments from his performance.
What is his song ?
Heâs Alexander-Arnold, Heâs Alexander-Arnold, Heâs Alexander-Arnold, the Scouser in our team. To the tune of âFor heâs a jolly good fellowâ.
Klopp has been quite vocal on him hasnât he.
I loved the performance. In title challenging season there would be twenty of these. Weâve seen it so many times - team makes things hard for Liverpool while not offering much themselves, until eventually Liverpool break their resistance and their hearts.
The context of what is around puts it in a different light. But 10 points out of 12. Iâll take that going into Sunday.
Yeah, I think Tierney resents the fact that JĂŒrgen knows what a **** he is.
Youâre 100% correct but I feel this seasons form kind of puts that as a better performance rather than a solid or workmanlike one that it would have been in previous seasons.
Still canât fault our recent points haul.
Unlike some of our more recent matches this one didnât come with loads to do for Alison - another welcome sight.
The performance was fine, we grew into it and the pressure we mounted in particular the last third of the game ultimately proved to be the difference.
We wonât see a free flowing high press chance after chance creating Liverpool side like weâve been accustomed to in the last 4-5 years until the midfield is addressedâŠcompletely addressed. Without the energy a lot of things go out the windowâŠwayward passing, slower recovery time, mistimed tackles, poor positioning etc etc.
Iâm not superstitious but ever since @sixpencenum isnât posting the traditional end of match gifs , we guys have sucked majorly.
I forget which thread I said it in, but I thought this match was huge in terms of what direction the season was heading. For me, apart from the blindingly obvious 3 points, the important thing was applying consistent effort and pressure through the whole game. The first half of this match was not radically different from the Palace match, but in that one we went stale in the second and drifted into a draw.
Agreed though that keeping clean sheets is a critical part of that.
Who is this sixpencenum and where have they gone?
Bring back sixpencenum, I say!!!
Years Iâve been posting these bloody gifs and you dont even remember my name
A good win, even if Tierney did his best to thwart us.
We look a lot more dangerous with Darwin Nunez in the side. It will be interesting to see what the blend will be when Diaz is fit again. A front three? A front four in a 4231?
On a related note, can Diaz play on the right? If he can, it would be nice to have some pressure on Mo.
The way he cuts inside and shoots, itâll restrict that somewhat? I remember many games he saved us by doing that and getting that crucial goal.
It would certainly be useful for us if one of Jota or Diaz, or even Nunez adjusted to the right side of attack. I know Jota has done it a few time but not convinced yet.
