What an enthralling game of football. Really captured the minds of the masses.
A 90-minute performance please, I beg. Some players went to pieces that second half. Feel like Curtis Jones was on the Boxing Day ale, because he misplaced about 20 passes it felt like. Konate pish - in fact the whole defence are so poor at defending set pieces. And why on earth we were inviting Wolves to drop easy balls into the box without pressure is beyond me. We’re lucky that they’re such a poor side.
Wirtz excellent again. I think he’s finally starting to justify the hype. Frimpong showed plenty of daring on the right wing, too. I’d like to see him as our starting RW until Salah returns (and maybe beyond depending on how he does…)
He was poor at RW today…
Today I decided I am going to walk the Appian Way in 2026.
I will ask Jupiter for his advice on our second halves.
one of the few players creating chances (including an assist)…?
If you think Slot is recovering, that unbeaten in seven and three wins in the bounce on the league. If you want him sacked, the second half was totally unacceptable.
Do something for everyone, and that’s what Christmas is all about.
Basics
STOP THE BALL COMING TOWARDS OUR GOAL.
CLOSE THE BALL DOWN
PRESSURE THE OPPONENT ON THE BALL.
We lacked the MF control in the 2hf to get him in the position to be decisive.
I wouldn’t call him poor though. Not as influential as the 1hf
I’ll take the win as an early birthday pressie…but they could hand me another pressie on NY day…I live in hopes…
Another six points and we avoid relegation.
Three points. Can’t wait to visit the cardiologist next week, he’ll have a go at the state of my heart this season. Nothing is ever easy. Very happy for Wirtz to get on the score sheet, he’s been class.
Patience in the first half and continued to probe. Two quick goals near the end were deserved. Frimpong and Grav linking for a smart finish to open, and then Ekitike setting up Wirtz, who had a good game. We controlled most of the first half, with Wolves concentrating on defending.
Then 2-0 up, of course our nemesis scoreline. Wolves started the second with much more hunger and took control of the game for 15 minutes.A bit of sloppy play, a corner conceded, and yet another set piece goal conceded.
Wolves looked to press advantage by putting on three fresh players. Slot kept gassed players on for too long, such as Ekitike who could have been taken off any time in the preceding 15 minutes when he was eventually subbed. Yes, we have youngsters on the bench, but fresh legs were needed in those closing stages.
Anyway, we picked up the 3 points and continue to make small steps in progress. A few more of these and we can cement the minimum fourth place by pulling away from the crowd.
We really need to win against Leeds and Fulham, and then target Arses.
Kerkez MOTM. The only one with some fight in him!
We are a mess. Arne couldn’t organise a piss up. Shocking second half where no one knew what the fuck they were supposed to do.
Glad we scored a couple in the first half but we cant bank on seeing out games if this continues. Better teams will punish us. Our midfield just disappeared exposing our lack of organisation at the back
@jabu I have and still want to be supportive of Slot, but some of what we are doing is alarming, we are so frail and I agree the coach is struggling to get them up for 90 mins, but I think our fitness coach needs to have his performance assessed we look gassed at 70 mins.
