Post Match - Liverpool Vs Arsenal (1-0)

LOL, wrist strength is completely irrelevant when you don’t get a hand to it!!!

Raya is an excellent goalkeeper and I don’t really fault him for the goal. You can get into the tiniest details on every goal that is conceded to find some sort of fault if you want to, but on this occasion it was overwhelmingly down to the quality of the strike.

Take a well deserved bow, Dominik Szoboszlai. It was one of the moments that will stay with you for a very long time. It’s why we love the game, when all you can say is ‘wow.’

Down to the quality of the strike, but it was interesting to see a couple of our players in the wall, making it difficult for Raya to see the strike until the last possible second… It was enough, and probably the reason he never got a sniff :0)
LFC have got a new set-piece coach in their ranks now. Makes me wonder whether a) He coached the boys against the Arse corners, which, as it was, they got no joy, and b) He coached them into taking up positions in the Arse wall when the free kick was being lined up…! One area of our game to watch I suppose.
He might even be the reason we won 3points eh

Seem like decent respectful lads but fuck me, the excitement around winning corners speaks volumes.

Arsenal fans seemed to be pushing the memo on Gakpo not being a metre away however there is another image that shows he is clearly a metre or two.

Incredible from Szoboszlai. He might be the best rb we have!

That camera location is very close to the seat I had at Anfield. What a view

Anyone who has learned how to hit a FK, know just how perfect his contact was on that goal. I know they don’t track the speed, but to get that dip he had to hit it ‘just right’

Amazing. 38 yards out. Wow

I’d read it was 30 metres which is about 32 yards. I can’t time it exactly but it was about 1 second to go in. I’d estimate 110kph (about 70mph).

That’s frankly astonishing for that distance and accuracy. I can’t believe that there is discussion of how the keeper could have done better other than through blind luck.

Pace plus spin after all it goes in off the post.

Even better if he takes a point off city they both lose more ground on Liverpool.

He had a right ding dong with that idiot Sutton about Izaks attitude.

Even after saying Liverpool had the better squad. This is the thing i find with Neville now hes calculated in what he says. Its all now to keep tge Neville brand at the forefront if he had said Liverpool finish above United nobody bats an eye lid but the other way around everyone is talking about it.

I keep on seeing post match commentary/interviews where there is a claim that Arsenal controlled the game, this is not how I saw the game while watching it. I looked at the stat’s on BBC, and Liverpool lead on nearly all (Possession, passing accuracy, tackles won (huge difference), shots on target, etc. They had by far the most corners, other than that, close to even at best or advantage Liverpool. My question is, did I watch this game through my red tinted retina or is the reality what I just described?

My impression of the game was nothing much between the sides, Arsenal playing not to lose from the outset, and then about the 65th minute we started pulling away significantly

Anyone else notice Ali directing Gakpo and Wirtz where to move on Doms goal. I think he was lining them up so that they blocked the keeper view until the last second.

At about the 16:04 (clip should start there) you will see Ali waving Gakpo over, and he drags Wirtz with him, and then you see Ali’s gloves as he gives them the stop signal (you will see the black of his gloves). I thought this was a brilliant bit of planning that contributed to the goal, that has probably been overlooked.

I saw a clip from behind Ali, and you can see it more clearly, I just cant find that clip.

Yeah, I saw the clip you mean. Ali was gesticulating but I don’t know if they could see him.
It’s a good sign that everyone is involved.
