Poor team performance but some good individual ones - Jones MOTM again with Woodman, Van Dijk, Robbo, Wirtz and Macca all having decent games too.
A game to forget really. It’s hard not to notice just how poor the general quality is in some of our games now, from both us and the opposition.

Three nice goals, each in their own way. Three points. The grip on the CL spots strengthens, which is the main thing at this stage. It’s not a done deal, but Brighton will need to be almost perfect and we will need to drop off alarmingly again.

As for the performance, it was iffy. We played way too much ponderous stuff, gave the ball away a lot, gave up a lot of chances, and on another day Palace would have finished a couple of those and we’d have been in trouble.
I’m of the view that the bulk of a smashing side is there, and with some key additions we can challenge next season. Crucially it will have to be under a new man, who will breathe new life into it. And I think that’s what will happen.
Reviewing my MOTM choices again, I would say Jones was unlucky not to get in there. He had a good game and it will be a big mistake to let him go.

My heart agrees with the first two, but my head says Curtis should be in there as well.
Overall, that was shite. We were hanging on like grim death as if we were playing one of Europe’s premier clubs. Was our midfield, other than Flo who was everywhere, on strike in the last 20 minutes?
I said 4 points last week and that’s looking enough.
I do think this win might be enough. Anyhow into 4th. Every result has sort of gone right for us these last two weeks it’s all a bit odd.
