That’s why I said nothing about Woodman till full time.
A few of Palace’s chaces were offside.
But yes too easy to play through in midfield
First half
Konate attempts to do either a drag back or a cut and ends up doing neither and nearly trips over his own feet with Mateta in close attendance.
A scouse voice near me goes “That’s well above your pay grade, son”
Not his fault. Most were one on one or one on two situations. He had their fullback on toast!
Nobody gambled.
Every time….
They get the ball and pass around our midfield
Macca is running with the ball carrier
No challenge. More like an escort into our penalty area
Frustrating as hell!!
My main issue, even wiith how poor we have been on the ball, is our defensive shape, it is all over the place the opposition play out from the back and seem to have an easy outlet to a completely unmarked player centrally in the midfield area and then we are chasing shadows.
you could maybe argue that…but only if you wanted to lose an arguement… ![]()
see that face in the bottom right of the screen?
thats the reason i never click on these things… its hard enough watching us play shit football, let alone watching someone watching us play…
regarding the Munoz goal, i understand the booing, its the theatre of it all, but seriously, Mnoz well within his rights…Woodman got up and played the rest of the game…i know its a fine line and i love to see sportsmanship…but i also love to see a bit of cunt too…
Suarez would have scored it and drank the boos…
I’m not sure using Suarez as your moral compass is advisable.
I agree that we’d expect our players to score that goal though.
I loved him, but when we played against him I realised everyone was right all along…,he’s a cunt ![]()
but a cunt you want on your side.
scoring or not scoring a goal in a football match… yeah, i wont look for moral guidance in that…
He wasn’t seriously hurt. He didn’t look seriously hurt. It wasn’t a foul. Woodman is on his feet before the ball hits the net.
Play to the whistle, basic stuff.
We’re in 4th place. Does that mean Slot is now back?
Genuinely, the entire back 4 should have been shot out of a cannon for that little 20 second period of play there for CP’s goal.
I loved Andy’s goal and was so pleased he got that knowing it’s one of his last few Anfield moments as a player, but he played a tremendous part in CP’s goal. Look at the lack of tracking. He had one job. Even Virg pointed to him to be careful of the run, and Andy just stood there and watched. Certainly what happened after with the keeper would have been avoided had Andy been tighter and doing his job.
Then when CP retain the ball and our players see our keeper rolling on the ground their response is just lacking. Do they genuinely think every team is just going to put the ball out of we ask it? In these desperate moments, play to the fucking whistle. If we have no keeper, and they have the ball, the instinct is to protect our goal. But no. Not in this team.
This season there have been a good number of occasions of teams preying on our lack of confidence to pick us apart and produce nice goals against us. For me, those ones are easy to stomach. There have been far too many goals this season where we are conceding through lack of concentration - all our own doing - and for me these are the ones that hurt.
3-1. Nice result. But I’ll always remember that game for a 20 second period where it felt all 11 players completely switched off.
Maybe our lads stopped playing because they automatically assumed the referee would stop play immediately for an injury, which he did every fucking time a Palace player decided to roll around on the floor?
Yes everytime Brennan Johnson fell down holding his head even though the contacts were lower down the play was stopped, but our goalie was not awarded the same courtesy maybe instead of holding his knee he should have writhed on the floor holding his head.
Slot mentioned specific occasions when we were treated the same way and even specified the ref officiating.
