You are deluded, are you an ostrich?

Robbo doesn’t stop - it was worse. He did this half measure thing that I’ve seen us do several times this year that drives me nuts - where a player just stands there with his arms behind him instead of actively trying to close down the ball.

I don’t blame Munoz for making the shot. I blame the ref for not stopping it, the defenders for not reacting in any meaningful way, and even Freddie for even trying to get up, which gave them plausible deniability.

I think everything happened too quickly for the ref to stop it, also along those lines I think that’s why Munoz initially hesitated as he thought the whistle might go, when it didn’t he did what I would expect our players to do, score.

In the end it wasn’t a bad injury as Freddie carried on.

To be fair Rambler, if Munoz started a chainsaw and cut Woodmans legs off you would see it as ok. Everything is fair and equal. You are consistent in that!

The ref had stopped play for a palace player on the ground, who obviously wasn’t injured…but we were half way up the pitch …so in theory the ref should have stopped play when Freddie indicated he was injured..blown his whistle…but he didn’t and I think it confused the defenders the mids…so i think the reffie is to blame…one rule for one lot…one rule for another…sorry refs that’s not how it works…and that’s why supporters think you are clowns…sorry for the rant

Trent had a superb range of passes plus his sense of timing and selection of the pass was very good. His drawback was that his defensive positioning and one-on-one defending skills were always suspect.

With Curtis, he’s defensively more solid (also better in 1-v-1 defending) and tuned-in than Trent was. His problem comes when he has possession, he still tends to hold the ball too long (he is very good at shielding it but sometimes overly confident) and that invites pressure. In midfield he could get away with it. In defence it will lead to goals unless he cycles possession quickly. Trying to pass it out injudiciously under pressure nearly led to a Palace goal, Freddie saved us that time.

Jones has been caught a few times but he’s also launched quite a lot of attacks, including the one that led to our winner against Everton. In his defence, I’d argue he’d be caught less on the ball if we had more passing options in midfield.

Ultimately, it’s better than Frimpong treating the ball like a grenade. If you want to play out from the back, you do have to take chances.

Not playing Jones more is Slot’s biggest mistake this season. He is the only one I trust in this squad who doesn’t lose the ball after 3 seconds or misplace a 5-yard pass, even without any pressure.
