We’ve seen this type of performance against the dross for the whole of Klopps’ time here. It starts at the back with us playing square balls at a snail’s pace and gives the opposing side so much time to get everyone back behind the ball. We just don’t seem to change. Is it over confidence or Jurgen’s stubbornness to change the way we play. I agree with the majority that MacAllister just doesn’t look comfortable as the defensive midfielder. All summed up by Nunez scoring a worldy midweek and then missing two chances today that my granny would have scored.
Happy we manage to get a point, should’ve won the game had Nunez buried the sitter. It just had to be Lucho to score the goal, so happy for him, and I hope his father gets released soon

We played just enough to generate a few quality chances, but we squandered them. I didn’t like Trent’s game today, I felt he wasn’t focus enough to bring his A game tonight. Macca as a No.6 works, but I’ve seen too many misplaced passes from him in the middle of the pitch that causes problems at the back for us. Also, I think he doesn’t have the tackling ability of a true 6 when defending. Since Macca is suspended, I would give Endo a few games as No.6 and see how it goes. I think he can do better at reading the play and breaking passes than Macca.
With Nunez, I think he’s still a rough diamond that needs to be polished. Yes he should’ve finished the sitter, but with Nunez we just have to accept these kinda things happen from him. He makes unbelievable goals easy, and easy goal hard. He will get better, and I think he’ll be world class, he just needs to work out his deficiency. He’s a streaky player like Jota.
Overall, I think the boys tried but obviously didn’t have their A game today. This might be a good wake-up call for the lads, it’s a long season there will be many ups and downs, sometimes when you’re riding high you need a whack on the head to remind yourself on what it takes to stay on top. Tonight was one of those games in the season, and I’m sure they’ll bounce back next weekend against Brentford.

Extremely disappointed…
that I stopped decorating the kitchen for 2 hours to watch that dross.
“Feed the scousers” sang the tragedy-chanting citizens of the Utopia of Luton. Obviously no child poverty or social deprivation in that neck of the woods. This day is bookmarked for the inevitable relegation they will suffer, for they are fucking shite.
As for us, just a terrible performance and the only surprise was the equaliser. Front 3 were abysmal and only McAllister of the midfield 3 (and Gravenberch 2nd half) played to an acceptable level.
Must win against Brentford now, I’d expect Jurgen to play a complete 2nd string in Toulouse.

Am really angry about the arrogance of some of our players today. Trent and Szobo the worst of the bunch.
Konate could and should have done a Rodri and taken him out and got a booking.

Klopp in his german post Match interview seemed to be very disappointed with the lack of Gegenpressing from midfield.

Konate has been poor all season. I can only guess Matip’s body is failing him a bit for him not to be starting every week.
Van Dijk has carried Konate in almost every game.

I’m sure he was talking about prime Fab/Gini/Hendo and he meant eating them alive = dominating the midfield battle.
