Post match: Man City v Liverpool (EPL 10/4/22 4.30pm)

JK explains the intricacies of the game plan, positioning, the runs to make, how to press etc.

DJ hears, ‘BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH BLAH ball BLAH BLAH BLAH net BLAH BLAH BLAH…’

Against the likes of City though that’s not enough for me, and it’s not like a front 3 of Diaz/Firmino, Mane and Salah is goal shy.

We need more control of the game, we need to disrupt the opposition more. I think other players offer that more than Jota.

It’s more like - ‘cup your balls like this, and it’ll definitely add to the experience’

With their 14 (or eight) points lead blown away, Cheaty came to this game with lots of trepidations. Now that they have managed to preserve their precious lead, they will be much calmer and confident for the rest of the season.

Im not sure it’s so simple. I think there were still decent sized holes at the bag that we exploited at times. The issue was they defended much better from the front than they have done at times which meant the quality of the ball going forward from us was worse. Whenever we managed to get the ball into their third we looked like we could hurt them, but far too often we got ourselves in trouble trying to get the ball to that point. The irony being Jesus is a big part in why they were able to hurt us like that. But I think even that sort of concession is a bit moot seeing as he also scored. He’s an odious little shit who plays on an unlikeable side, but he’s actually a very good player. If he was to play for us I think we’d rate him quite highly as an option in the Bobby role.

I agree. Its also second nature now to our original front 3. Hope to see Bobby starting. Have 5 subs do Jota and Diaz to smash them off the bench

You’d have said that before Palace though. There are teams they struggle against. Much like us, they should beat anyone on paper - but they do come across teams that can frustrate them, and as well as they did against us, they are not the side of a couple of years ago.

My wife decided to go into labor on Sunday morning so unfortunately I missed the match! Still, got a healthy baby daughter out of it so it’s not a bad deal. I said we would have to name her Mo or Sadie if there were heroics performed, but the draw means we’ve stuck with our original name choice.

Haven’t even managed to watch the highlights yet so I can’t comment, but still plenty can happen in this title race. I still believe.
