I was hoping for at least a decent performance.
Just so disappointing not to look remotely in the match.
Slot has to look at how the midfield operates.
We look so lethargic only Bradley and Wirtz looked like they put the effort in. It’s like they expect it to be handed on a plate.
Gravenberch was on holiday I think
.
no complaints about the team selection,
its the team that i hoped for specially after the same players beat Madrid,
but we never seemed up for it, we seemed to be tired
our midfield didnt did put up much of a battle either
too many players where missing,
Ekitike, did he even get a mention during the game?
First half barely at the races. Second half better but unconvincing. 3 - 0 might flatter citeh, but they were the better team for most of the game. That said, they are fucking cheating cunts at times. Sly fouls in our half as we gear up to attack. You’d have thought they had riches of enough without resorting to the Mourinho Chelski dark arts. Fuck them. Fortunately I think we will improve. The premiership might be gone but long term there is hope. Whether that includes the calamitous Konate remains to be seen.
Arne Slot:
“It is easy for players to win their duels if the gameplan and tactics are working like they did against Villa and Madrid. Today we struggled with City bringing so many players into the centre of the pitch. They were so much better on the ball than us."
so ummm… gameplan was not working then??
Yeah
Shit like this he needs to be gone.
Murmurings in your head maybe but not in real life. Slot spoke more than anyone else about how grateful he was to Jurgen for leaving a brilliant squad
This is clearly a team in transition. I would give Slot at least 12 months to show what his long term thinking is. Losses are always disappointing, but you learn and grow. I’m confident that we can improve massively. We just need to have patience and keep the faith. I recall Paisley won fuck all in his first season taking over from Shankly in 74/75. Slot won the bloody prem.
Shankly had a run of 6 consecutive seasons when he won nothing. I suppose you would have had him sacked too? ![]()
Six seasons? He wouldn’t have lasted six games with the bellends on social media.
Konate can go as far as I’m concerned. His lack of dominance for the Harland header was absolute shite for a man who is the size of a mountain. He looks world class one minute and Traore mk2 the next. I’m done with him.
hi DILDO BAGGINS!!
I love these arguments. Did Shankly lose 5 of 11 games the season after winning the title and having shelled out 450m quid.
Are you really stupid or just doing a good impression of someone who is?
When you don’t have a counter argument so you throw insults.
I don’t need counter arguments. You are simply stupid. It’s obvious.
Getting a result at Man City is a difficult thing to do at the best of times. Add in the fact that it was Guardiola’s 1000th game and they were amped up for it, and it was that much more difficult.
We were well beaten in the end, and that is disappointing. Earlier in the game we were not at the races. They passed it well and we were chasing shadows. They also got all the luck. Their penalty was very soft, but Mamardashvili saved it anyway. He has the best penalty saving record in the top five European leagues apparently.
After that there was a sense in which the narrative was established and City would not be denied on their manager’s 1000th game. They also got the luck - Haaland didn’t intend for his header, it was a missed header by Konate more than anything else and it hit him and went into the far corner. Their second goal was a scuffed shot that deflected off Virg. In the second half we had a firm cross that deflected off their defender and just looped over the bar. Salah had a decent chance and clipped it over their goalie but past the post.
Doku usually raises his game against us and he gave us trouble. His goal was an excellent effort, shifting laterally quickly, before curling a shot into the far corner.
They were better than us.
They also benefitted from good luck on the day, whereas we had none.
There was also a sense that the narrative would not be denied, and 1000 game Pep got the points.
I hope we don’t go overboard on Slot. I think better form is on the way after the international break. We will also start to integrate Isak and get better as we go.
It’s likely that the title has gone, but I expect us to improve and finish comfortably in the CL spots. And here is the mother of all predictions to bring a smile in the midst of the gloom:
We will win the CL. We will come into top form at the business end of the comp, similar to PSG last season.
Why because ive called your absolute bollocks. Comparing a situation from 60 odd years ago.
No, you just spout bollocks. You always have.
Stop its too funny your posts.
