Maybe Slot needs to get more guys that Klopp likes. He was more successful with Klopp guys. Or use Klopp training methods. A little bit of both. He used to figure things out fast last season. Not sure what’s going on this time.
That was the moment I spewed it as well. The agenda was set and there was only ever going to be one result. It’s sad the corruption is so obvious but nobody wants to call it out, even those on the wrong end of it.
As @jaffod says…
We can’t hide behind a bad performance. This was an excruciating bad performance.
But some of us predicted the strange VAR and refereeing decisions would happen. In the pre match thread. It’s no longer even a debate, those who believe in equity and fairness in refereeing are surely seeing the biases at work.
We will only ever win trophies by being briliant.
Arsenal whinged yesterday about Sunderlands equaliser…high foot etc. They got three points at Newcastle when Gabriel should have been sent off. They are getting decisions, every corner and long throw has petty fouling going unnoticed. We had MacAllister assaulted in the Villa match but the win countered any discussion. Uniteds first goal at Anfield also shouldn’t have stood…
At this time, we are simply not good enough.
But we are also being shafted on a regullar basis.
It’s a wow tonight…
I know many think so, but while i do think it’s played a role in terms of mood; I don’t personally think it is a big factor in system and shape not working. But I don’t know and will not pretend to say anything authoritatively, just that I don’t think so, since loss of fathers , mothers and brothers and sisters; is sadly not uncommon in Elite Sports when training for WC or Olympics; and many athletes still manage to channel it in a positive way, some ending up winning gold.
And when it’s a team sports like football, you are not alone at all, you have a collective to support you, so should be mentally easier than having to train alone in a bubble with just your coach and a couple of others to support you.
So I don’t know, but I don’t think so. But it’s speculative. I don’t claim to know. I am just very skeptical of Jota’s death playing a big role in regards to our current predicament.
The disallowed goal was a complete fudge up. Robertson was not impeding nor in the line of sight of the goalie. Whilst we didnt turn up with the intensity we’d seen against Villa and Real, that knocked us back. Then shortly after Citeh got the 2nd and it was game over.
Overall though, we were not competitive enough, and still have some problems to sort out.
Which simply is, in the main, there has been too many changes in personnel and it takes time for those relationships to blossom. We have a transition season to endure.
Most definitely Jota’s death will have devastated the players but, to be brutal, how long can that be allowed to go on for? If it is affecting performances, I’m sorry but they’re going to have to snap out of it. We all miss Diogo, but life goes on.
Transition season…oh my days…I’ll have to stock up on chocolate…
A long season, you should go to Costco, bulk buy.
I may have to…it is rather stressy at the moment…and all i want is a win…win…win…
Pitch size maybe? I have some doubts about his positioning at times. He might get away with it more on a smaller pitch.
This forum would be a hell of a lot better if people didn’t get so upset with others having a different opinion to them.
There’s been some incredibly sensitive posters on here recently sniping at others because their favourite players have faced criticism. Gakpo and Bradley may or may not be good players, but they’re certainly not good enough to be so dismissive and mocking of those criticising them.
The desperation to jump in with the ‘I told you so’ and call everyone who’s been critical of a terrible run of form ‘bedwetters’ or ‘knee jerk’ or whatever is peak tedium.
I don’t think we will see much movement this January, with the possible exception of closing whatever deal might be there for Guehi. Slot is clearly struggling to integrate the summer players, and adding one or two more integration problems won’t help that. I also think FSG will have been deeply influenced by Klopp’s dislike of January transfers in general - any transfers will have to be seen as too-good-to-miss opportunities, not throwing money in hopes of a fix.
Need to go with Costco Business…that is a much larger order!
No matter how bad we were today, the team tipped to win the title by many this season, only managed to gain a single point on us.
Yes the Cheaters have entered the frame, but they have done so with a lot of players that have yet to prove they can go the full distance and continue to pick up a substantial number of points week by week.
In being as disjointed as we presently are in some games, means we can’t keep a consistent pressure on the Arse at the moment. Now if that job falls to the Cheaters for the next couple of months, so be it… The main thing is that while the Arse players have to deal with pressure a contested league brings, means they cant begin to relax at any point, or swop players out if some suffer from fatigue. They are already moaning about having to play Palace in the Carabao cup in amongst their heavy schedule.
IMO, the PL, as in a football match, consists of two halves.
Pre-Christmas and post-Christmas. If AS can sort our shit out before the year ends, and we can stay within single digit reach of the leaders… We might be able to produce one of the best cavalry charges ever witnessed in the second half of the season.
Today could have been better, we know that… but that game in midweek when we tore RM apart, with hindsight, put us at a disadvantage today. That was our ‘dancing on the tables’ under the lights party night, today was the hangover…!
Couple of truckloads heading your way, after that you might need it ![]()
Andy Robertson today and Bernardo Silva at Molineux last year. Both in an offside position, but the Scot was deemed to be ‘interfering’ with Gianluigi Donnarumma, while Bernardo Silva apparently wasn’t impeding Jose Sa.
And Chris Kavanagh was the referee in both of those matches… ![]()
I’m no body language expert but Virgil has the look of a man who knows he’s looking at a fucking cheat and Kavanagh has the look of cheat who knows he’s been sussed.
I think it’s an era we’ve already entered.
