its not true…it landed about two feet away from him…
It’s an iffy start but one really worrying trend is 5 goals against in 3 games. It’s been a long time since that happened. I thought we did well but just didn’t have the legs in the engine room, and that’s not a quick fix. Unfortunately we have far to many injury prone midfielders. Naby and Ox are real let downs.
im hearing you.
somethings not quite there.
Klopps face vs Fulham sticks in my mind…the ‘smiling disbelief’ just seemed almost…maybe…like a resignation to a fact or something…it didnt look jurgen Klopp like
This then is a big problem because he will be missing a lot judging by his history. And at 30 years of age it will only get worse.
He alone isn’t the reason for our defensive frailties though
You’re mistaken, he got injured looking at the paper airplane flying towards him
Well my mistake,
I only thank god the pointed bit didn’t hit him in the eye, could you imagine???
I am fighting for my life here on lunch at work. Jürgen I want a job at Liverpool for the waffling I’m doing to defend this team
Career ending, he’d retire ( still remember poor Momo Sissoko getting that eye injury Ina match)
Such a common injury aren’t they? Eye injuries.
Wouldn’t surprise me if Naby came down with an eye infection just looking at his injury record.
I don’t know if you Remember Bryan Robson’s injury record (quite long). included him once swallowing his own tongue during a match and shoulder dislocations
You’d think that after all these years under Klopp, that we would still have belief in the team/players to turn this around. Instead, 3 games in, the title’s lost/gone/over already - I’m fairly sure we’ve been further behind in the race in the past and closed the gap. We are miles from a 20/21 situation right now imo.
Obviously it’s a shit sandwich right now, but it doesn’t mean it’s staying that way all season long. Would help if the fans got behind the team a bit more - twatter etc just slagging everyone of does no good - treating footballers like they’re machines/robots - doesn’t help!
And on the other side he has been saying that when Keïta leaves we will definitely get a new midfielder so all of a sudden there is the right player available.
In some ways it’s worse than 20/21. The team’s response after conceding the goals was tepid. There was little reaction on the pitch. After coming out from second half team talks there have been scant (if any) uptick in performances.
And the whole team looks a step slow. Especially all the older midfielders and Bobby up front
In 20/21 we scored first a lot. And defensive frailties were there but fight in the team was never lacking.
We are now
Fuck me, why is Firmino so deep that he is almost level as Elliott and Milly??
The reaction was poor, I agree, but the reaction to the reaction seems a bit OTT - once again, as per my original post, it feels to me as if a large percentage of the fanbase forget the footballers are human. Old Toilet has the best atmosphere it’s had in well over a year, and the united players turned up - we didn’t. But humans can get caught out from time to time, like they did yesterday. We all have bad days at work. After the last 3-4 seasons, we demand perfection, and demand to be able to compete at the highest level, whilst we have our wings partially clipped by the competition we are up against.
What we can all agree on is that the players need to get themselves out of this funk. I am clearly not as concerned as others are, but I’m not blinkered into thinking it’s all great either. I don’t often want players sold - but I’ve now reached a point where I don’t care if I don’t ever see Naby or Ox in a red shirt again.
Maybe it’s time for Bjatic to get a game…
Right then, time to panic…
Because he has no clue how to run in behind or hold the ball up so his only other option to try get involved in games is by dropping into space.
But you don’t need a heat map in 2022 to know this, if people actually watched the games you’d be able to see for yourself.
Firmino can do that, and has done so many times over the years. I’m not buying this whole argument that he’s just not that kind of player.
That’s ignoring the fact that you could say the same about Salah, and the main truth is just that we aren’t consistent enough. Our best runs have usually come with consistency in performance, and it just isn’t there.
Raj knows its not our best combo.
