Post match: Man Utd v Liverpool (EPL 7/4/24 3.30pm)

  1. No injuries.
  2. Utd no closer to playing CL football next season
  3. ETH is still manager of that shitshow.

Against Spurs and Arsenal we were robbed by incompetent refereeing. Yesterday, we robbed ourselves and not the first time against this shite team.

re Quansah - ok its a mistake but if we are better in their box united wouldve been 5 down and its a consolation goal in a half empty OTā€¦ Instead it gives united encouragement in a game they shouldve been down and out in

Nunezā€¦pure frustration again. His performances really are marmite. That chance from 6 yardsā€¦it was going out for a throw if the united player hdnt put it out for a corner. how is that even possible?

First off, Diaz should have taken the shot himself, he had a better angle, especially since his pass placed Nunez rather wide.

Apart from that, was Nunez even trying to shoot? Or did he actually mean to square the ball back across the goal?

Iā€™m not sure and I doubt Nunez himself knew what he was doing, which pretty much says all there is to be said.

Imagine if Nunez pulled-off everything he gets pelters for on hereā€¦

Heā€™d have 73 goals and 46 assists for the year.

You do realise that only Arsenal have conceded fewer than us, right?

Well then I guess weā€™ve dropped our quota, the only way is up!

I understand it hurts like fuck losingā€¦what a fucking dickhead that SBYM cat is, hey? dropping points to those shites, they really are fucking rubbishā€¦

However, anyone who hasnā€™t woken up this morning champing at the bit for the next 7 games really needs to ask themselves why they follow a professional sport.

We are a huge chance to win a completely unexpected league title AND we are doing it in a way (with a shitload of youth) that signals a pretty fucking great future awaits this teamā€¦

Strap in, no room for moaners, fannies or bed-wetters on this magic carpet ride.

a whole new world aladdin GIF

Alsoā€¦just go do something else, the weather is great, go for a walk in the park if possible, watch a movie/tv show youā€™ve been meaning to.
I thought after 2013/2014 that weā€™d never get a better chance of winning the title, yet we did. It will happen again.

Itā€™s a medical condition

Feel like a fair share of our current players will be axed or at risk under the new manager, namely Gakpo, Nunez, Gravenberch, Jones, possibly Salah, for example.

And we didnā€™t lose.

Been a while Thomas! Weird how you disappeared while Jones was in the team and playing great but you pop back up when he puts in a rusty 20 minutes at Old Trafford :joy:

Iā€™ve had this feeling too. I really do wonder what the data will show on a number of our players, and how Edwards/Hughes will interpret them/discuss them with the new manager.

Yes, why would he want players that are on the verge of winning the title?

Wonā€™t they show that our forwards score the most goals collectively than any other team in Europe?

No other team has the output for goal contributions from forwards than we do and Iā€™d be very surprised if any other forward line out there create as many chances as we do.

Itā€™s like people are begging to go back to the days of Bellamy Carroll and Kuyt or Heskey Baros and Kewell.

I wasnā€™t referring to the forward line. Iā€™m curious what the data shows about the squad, and whether certain players fit i.e. Gakpo, Gravenberch, who I donā€™t think we wouldā€™ve signed under Edwards. Our midfield is heavily stocked, so what does the data show on who we have on the books, and Iā€™m interested in what weā€™d do if a big bid for Salah came in, and whether the data supports rejecting any bid.

It stands to reason that the new manager will want to make changes. He is going to live and die by results, and as he implements his system he will want to make some changes by bringing in players he feels will be crucial for him.

But itā€™s all a matter of balance.

How many changes? Not too many! Because we have a great squad, at a perfect age, with plenty of younger players coming through, and whether or not we win the Prem this season, we are in the conversation.

Any manager worth his salt would love to inherit a squad like ours, with the resources we have to shape it further, and the patience and backing we traditionally give to the manager. We are a professional outfit from top to bottom, with everything set up for someone to be successful.

If the new manager wanted to make too many changes right away, because he underestimated what we already have, I doubt he would be coming.

But we are reasonable, and it is a given that the new man will tweak it. At that point, it is possible there will be a surprise or two in terms of how he sees it, but heā€™s allowed that if it comes to it.

well, we definitely gave away two points at the Old Toilet yesterday

if the title doesnā€™t come to Anfield this year, the only place to lay blame is at the feet of the manager/players.

I find it difficult to watch sometimes, how we dominate possession but have such little in the way of guile in the box. Salah was atrocious yesterday, all of our front three couldnā€™t hit the broad side of a barn. If we hadnā€™t been gifted a pen by AWB in the last 15min we would have come out of there with NOTHING.

take the 100M for Salah at end of season and he can leave with his head held high as one of our greats. letā€™s not make this awkward.
