Post match: Man Utd v Liverpool (FAC 24/1/21 5.00pm)

With the refereeing bias getting worse by the week…
Is it too much of a stretch to consider this Tory Government have instructed the Premier League to make this seasons efforts more of a contest.!
As a method to control us, the masses, and keep some interest in football as a distraction of sorts in the Midst of this Covid… !
With this Governments poor performance to date, and the Pantomime Villians it contains… who could deny it with any certainty…!

If Thursday things go wrong for Spurs you have seen nothing jet. Atkinson is the ref and Moss VAR.

First point, completely agree.

Second point, totally disagree.

We were that good last season that we could win against 11+ref if need be

What’s Blue Moon and how do you know? :stuck_out_tongue:

Man City Forum, where a very large portion of their fan base are tin foil hat wearing conspiracy theorists.

Seeing a bit of it creeping in here, hopefully the team can start twatting teams again shortly so we can get back to talking about football.

Faith? As in their religion? You’ll have to explain that one Mate.

OK so explain to me why they have erected a 5G mast outside Anfield… :rage:

The number one issue for us is the bias against us by officials.

It has directly effected specific results, especially when last minute penalties have been given against us, and it has indirectly effected results in a cumulative aggregate way. By this I mean that over a season, all the blowing up for fouls against us that aren’t when opponents do them, all the bookings we get that others don’t, all the injuries picked up by allowing thuggery, ensure that we’re a number of points worse off. Never mind that it’s mentally draining to be up against opponents and officials.

What, where, why, how is debatable.

Personally I think at a minimum some refs have discussed this, they have actively discussed how to do it, and culturally they’re influencing even non biased refs.

But I actually think that one or two refs have been got at, and they are driving it all. After all, City’s owners have their own secret police. Please don’t tell me they don’t use it.

It’s allowed because the national media is biased against us, and the city, and the authorities are also anti LFC and turn a blind eye to it.

I’d say there’s enough going on that there’d be some evidence somewhere, and I’m surprised our well connected owners, whose assets are being affected by it, don’t have some way of uncovering it. It is match fixing after all.

But of course that then becomes part of a bigger picture. Maybe the authorities in the US would not want to do anything that upsets the owners of City, due to oil and investment consequences.

Maybe FSG will decide to exit the club as a result.

As to Fabinho on Cavani, I think when you move your knee as Fab did it creates the opportunity for Cavani and the ref. I’m not a top class defender, so I don’t know what’s best to do in such circumstances, but if Fab stands up straight and just holds his position, it’s much harder to give.

:joy::rofl::joy::rofl::joy:

Totally unfair. Totally.
You go and read Blue Moon or whatever nonsense you like but comparing people on here to their “tin foil hat conspiracy theorists” is grossly insulting. There are people here who have had reasoned and rational debate on the level of bias suffered by club and city. There has been many heated debates on the issue, with tin foil hats being the go to insult to denigrate any form of argument. This was much evidenced on TIA. But instead of writing people off as conspiracy theorists I notice a few more people are noting the inherent bias against the club.

Debate if it exists. Debate the genesis of the problem. But please do so without stooping to the levels we endured before.

The point you miss is that we’re not going to twat teams when every time we win the ball back it gets blown up as a foul, when opponents can go in our boys after the ball has gone and kick them out of the game, when penalties are awarded against us for nothing, but not for us when there’s a good case.

The referees are corrupt, plain and simple.

And Martin Atkinson is the worst.

Yeah. I wonder if they get shit treatment because they are Muslims.

There is a reason why employers go to great lengths to take subjective considerations out of recruitment decisions.

You look at the decisions that England’s Sir Harry Kane gets compared with our two, and you have to wonder.

Them playing for Liverpool is more than enough.

It started right at the beginning of the season when we were playing better.

Atkinson denied Salah a penalty at Villa when we were 1 or 2 down. Had that gone in, the result might have been different.

Then the farce at Everton. The draw at Brighton when, having chalked off goals for us that were no different to goals that have stood against us, they then gave a soft penalty right at the end that we’d never have got ourselves. Many other examples too.

Sorry but anyone who disputes that what we’re seeing is an orchestrated campaign from referees against LFC, which the media and authorities turn a blind eye to, has a blind eye or two themselves.

Our current form is partly the result of confidence lost due to results that resulted from bent refereeing.

Yes injuries have taken their toll, but when you are up against it anyway, these decisions by refs have been the difference between wins and draws and draws and defeats.

Again, instead of actually exploring the evidence the usual low level insult is thrown. Up there with Trump etc…
And it doesn’t only happen when we are playing poorly.
Maybe be a bit more careful with the generalisations.

Moss being mentioned again, the guys just really slow and fat, he is fine on VAR as he doesn’t have to Run.

Yea Brighton and Everton are issues but we made them mute last year by scoring enough to win, we haven’t scored a single goal in the PL for a month now.

Coote we all know is incompetent and has an agenda but then Nuno called him out as well so maybe he is just incompetent.

Yeah certain decisions have been made that fucked us over and we go back to the Everton match but we’ve simply been terrible these last 5 games and if we hadn’t we would be top.

And as much as I hate the Tories they’ve just about managed to organise the Vaccine and that’s the only thing they’ve organised well all year.

I get it some don’t like us and I get it some have an agenda but I’m not seeing it much in how Pawson reffed that game, I went to Palace years ago for a period and they had these four guys behind me and it sounds exactly the same, all refs are bent they are all against us.

Sorry I’m not going engage if you reply as I find this tiresome debate that is devoid of reality, yes they screwed us over against Brighton and Everton, is it a secret government plot to deny us the title? No

Really? Mo Salah stands on the edge of the area, waits for a defender to approach him, and then throws himself theatrically to the floor, and you think he gets the decision?

Every single game I’m watching Mo trying to play football with players dangling off his neck. There is no way he gets that decision.

Fair enough I will just leave you all to crack on with it.

Personally I don’t see it, especially in the Utd game. I don’t recall feeling hard done to at any point in the game, the Cavani incident is 50/50 maybe, he is going down soft, but Fab did stick a knee in the back of his leg, so can see why it is given, and would be asking for if it it was us. We still had the option to do something about it. Thiago could be stronger in the wall, he has been put in the best place to defend it but ducks instead of staying tall or reacting to the ball by jumping.

We lost this game because of an error by a kid who shouldn’t be having to play as much as this, and because of our inability to defend that free kick.

Also personally i felt Ali could have defended all 3 goals better, but he is allowed an off day due to the amount of times he has bailed us out.

I didn’t see anything in this game that I felt cheated us out of the result, it was down to our own inability and short comings.

Ref’s are never going to win, it happens in all sports for all teams, fans are Tribal and at pretty much every game I have been at Live fans are berating the ref at every decision that goes against their team, and majority of the time I would agree it was a foul, or watch it back on tv and think yeah they got that one right.

There are obviously calls that go against us, and yes sometimes I think we have been done by a bad call, but I would guess most of the team in the League will feel the same and can point to similar incidents.

It just feels like people are shitting the bed now Klopp has made a comment and a dopey ex ref has also made a throwaway comment also.

I’m not buying the referees decided to go easy on us for two years so we could post 90+ points and win a couple of trophies, now they have decided to stop us winning games again, do you know how mad that sounds?

No, we did that because we was bang at it, the best team in the League, playing the best football, why are we where we are now, because we aren’t, that’s it for me.

So what about Clattenberg admitting the refs favoured United?

If you don’t think that LFC gets the wrong end of the refereeing stick that’s your call. But the evidence is clear cut, not least because of the length of time spent by VAR on every decision that could affect us adversely, like when we score and they use every possible line to try and chalk it off, or when a soft penalty opportunity against us presents itself. Look at how long they spent trying to give Fulham a penalty, when it was clear on the first look that Fabinho took the ball. They even sent the ref to the monitor.

Yet every time something could go for us, like Son possibly being offside, or a keeper having a hand around Mane’s leg, or a WBA player holding Fabinho down, it doesn’t get looked at.

You probably think Liverpool as a city doesn’t suffer from bias and prejudice either.
