Pundits are there to be critical and he was terrible.

Like the social media stuff can get fucked but I would say what I’ve seen is fair from the pundits.

Yeah, it’s hard to be too sympathetic. Her millionaire lifestyle is due to him being a public figure. He’s not only going to be praised.
He can enjoy his wealth on Man U’s bench until Christmas and then go and earn more millions in Saudi. It’s not really a tragedy.

Does anyone have a link for Match of the Day 2 full show?

It might be best if you don’t understand his argument… because if you did, I would genuinely fear that your sharp mind has deserted you.

I mentioned it during the match, but worth coming back to, but something really got into Virgil for this game. During the game I commented on how unusually focused he was on combatting Zirkzee, allowing Ibou to be the one who swept, and he just absolutely dominated him. But it wasnt just that. I have since seen several clips of him imposing himself in off the ball situations, and it can only be described as him spending all the game making sure the Utd players remember they were having to play against Virgil van Fucking Dijk.

The reserved way he plays can make you forget how absurdly dominant he is when he needs to be (I still remember Sadio getting him 1 vs 1 in a game his first season for us when Virgil was still at Southampton and just immediately throwing his arms up at what was a hopeless task even for him) and so watching him play like that is a joy. I dont know what got into him, but it was fucking great.

Loved it when that knob jockey martinez went through Szoboszlai and you see Virgil mouthing, “try that with me”. Class attitude from the skipper.

After the third goal, Martinez punted the ball back towards the half way line in frustration and it landed not far from Virgil. He pointedly kicked it right back to Martinez as if he was a teacher scolding a young pupil for not asking permission to do something before doing it. :joy:

Timely reminder that this could be his last season with us. I don’t know how we’re going to attempt to replace him. He truly is one of a kind even at 33.

The recruitment team have pulled rabbits out of the hat before, but identifying someone who comes close to arguably our best defender ever, will be their greatest trick.

Let’s just say not the sharpest tool in the shed. It’s almost too easy for Carra to take the piss out of him. Open goals.

Yeah I picked up on that as well. I felt like Virgil was like a big cat marking his territory (at OT!). I got a massive chuckle when Bruno dived on the half time whistle and Virgin went over and starting caressing his neck.

The guy was in intimidation mode and it worked.
