Wasteful finishing? 99%.
Bad luck? 1%.
Darlow making some good saves isn’t bad luck, it’s just the keeper doing his job. And some of the saves he did were on bad bad finishes, notably Bobby’s header in the first half.
Yeah we haven’t been much lucky over the whole season so far, but at some point, when you keep being ‘unlucky’, it’s a sign of something not being right. You have to deserve your luck. Our lads did that last season, but this one, it’s not happening. Some of them look arrogant and casual (TAA for instance, Mo too at times), while others look completely spent at this point (Mané, Robertson, Gini among others).
Our real bad luck has been losing VVD and Gomez so early for the season, and losing other key players for longer spells too. But in-match bad luck? Nah, I’m not buying it.

I don’t think any of our players deserve MOTM. We never got out of 1st gear.
Why doesn’t Firmino just use his 1st tiuch to push the ball towards their goal? there really is no need to controll those crosses.
That and seeing Jones playing in the U23 again would be a bonus.

Summary of Klopp‘s comments: I like the game. We’re not happy about the result, but happy with the performance. We had chances we should have finished. Seen a lot of football and those games can happen. I know the boys and they will finish those chances another day. Not thinking about our position in the table. We’ve drawn the last two and are still top. That shows how difficult this season is.
Is fucking right boss.

This place is gonna be fun when the league goes down to the wire…

Milner did a fine job defensively and made plenty of penetrative passes. Curtis was the one that never really got into the game, being callow an’ all. He had more license to join the attack but never quite clicked.

That cross field pass from thiago to Trent was wow

Why would you do that to him. He’s been great. He could do with starting a couple on the bench. Sending him back to the U23s would be punishing him for exceeding our expectations.
Bizarre comment.

Time for a chocolate-rum-ball-thingy and a calvados.
Welcome back @Commando…you clearly have a lot of work to do…

That’s 6 draws now… Think we managed 7 the whole of last season… And the worrying part is most of the draws are against relegation fighters. Front 3 have been out of form for so many months now. Trent plays well once in 3 games. Robbo is the one standout player along with Fab and Alison performing game after game. Very let down and disappointed especially when United are breathing down our neck and we are wasteful yet again.
He is what he is - a youngster picking up experience with flashes of brilliance. But with players returning, he doesn’t now need to be burdened with starting 11 expectations - he can now learn his trade by coming on as a sub, which is as it should be to integrate into the team .

At some stage cue Jürgen jumping to Bobby’s defence saying that he is more than just a goal scorer, as if we don’t know, but seriously, the guy has been way more cold than hot.
Time to bench Jones, was shit.
Trent need some training time for his crossing. 1 brilliant pass a game doesn’t cut it.
Thiago shows why he is class. We could of had him on much earlier.
Shaq was a silly sub in that is was way, way, way, fucking way too late. Did he even get to touch the ball?
Looks like the 7 we sent past Crystal Palace looks like a fluke when you watch our other away performances.

If Thiago and Jota could have got more game time we would have turned draws into wins. The new signings would freshen us up. It’s starting to look like the team that has been together for awhile now is going stale

Don’t you feel that Alisson’s distribution has been poor since he has come back?
His other goalkeeping duties he carries out well or well enough. Even so I don’t see him as stand out since he returned. Just a lot better than anything else we have had in that position for a long time, which of course is a bonus but considering the competition nothing to shout home about.

I am not worried about United’s position anymore than I suspect they were about us in 08/09

Agreed, but he should be on the bench, not starting games. He did great while we had the massive losses due to injuries, but we shouldn’t be depending on him to perform well as a starter for at least a month. What’s happening to him and to the young defenders who are costing us goals is why they shouldn’t be rushed into first team action.
Overall, the CB situation is complicating things and possibly causing issues in the midfield.
I reckon if Jota was fit Klopp wouldn’t wait till extra time to drag Salah off!
