Good performance all round . Newcastle very flattered by the score line. Personally I thought our 1-0 victory was more impressive than M.C. 4-0.

That was a very solid and professional performance. Newcastle are a much improved club under their new owners, but still we managed to beat them with heavily rotated squad.

The defence deserves a special praise. Matip and VvD were dominant, leading the line really well /9 offsides in this match is our record for the season/. Robbo was very solid defensively, especially that tackle against Murphy in the 92nd minute and what followed was 100+ metres run, Klopp really enjoyed that moment. Gomez was faultless, he is very fast and at the same time his height helps us, because defensively he can play as a 3rd central defender when needed, which gives more solidity to our defending.

The three in midfield were also very good. I have said many rimes this season that Hendo’s best position at the moment is number 6, but it is hard to play there when Fab is in contention. At least Jordan gives the team extra options and his leadership is unquestionable. Milner is getting older, has lost his speed, but yesterday he looked superb, the boss really loves him and wants to keep him for another season.

Keita - man of the match display. He is definitely not the fastest midfielder /I am not 100% sure, but he looked faster when I watched him at RB Leipzig/, but he has everything to be a top player. 3 goals and 1 assist, 19 PL matches, 12 PL starts - improving and he played more footbal for us only in his first season for LFC. Maybe a new contract is underway?

This season Klopp’s rotation /the signings of Diaz and Konate and the successful adaptation of Tsimikas massively helped/ really helps most of our players staying fit especially in the second part of the season - Matip, Gomez, Keita, Thiago, Konate.

Our forwards did not have their best day in front of goal, but they contributed the win. Jota pressed very well, helped the midfield and his pass for Keita’s goal was sublime.
Diaz was constant threat with his direct running, while Mane was probably the most invisible of our three attackers.
Still they need to be less selfish in front of goal and Salah is the prime example for them. Mo has 22 goals this season and at the same time he has 13 !!! assists, while Firmino /3/, Jota /3/, Diaz /2/ and Mane /2/ have 10 asissts combined.

Finally got around to seeing the extended highlights not too bothered with what we missed.

As others have said nothing worried us in the match as for the challenge… how anyone thought that was anything but a good challenge is beyond me, it looked fine at first take and it looked even more so on the replay.

Oh and the offside goal wasn’t even close
