Possibly and that’s absolutely true.
Not furious, but definitely disappointed.
Like I said last night, I feel Kelleher coulda swallowed that pill.
But all it would have taken was him punching the air like Judd Nelson in the Brekky Club and we are 9 points clear.
Small margins…
But again, we were dogshit.
Did we deserve 3 points? Prolly not.
But what does one deserve?
Who knows…
Ban.
I’ve cheered up now.
I just made a cranky old fuck do this…
Happy Days.
Just from the thumbnail immediately above…
I dare you, DOUBLE DARE you, to try and convince me Gordon doesn’t like like an albino Uruk-hai.
Read all the posts in between.
There is an argument that the keeper is at fault for all 3. The first one is a hell of a strike and it’s shifting but I suspect Allisson gets it. The second is smacked through him and the third is obvious. I did venture the question should he remain when Ali is fit. I think we now have the answer.
Gotcha, just catching up
He actually touched the ball slightly…was visible on replay
Not sure why we must react like this to any setback.
We had a difficult 1hf in dealing with the Newcastle pressure. And they deservedly were one goal ahead.
But overall, we were not ‘dogshit’…
And we did come back strongly in the 2hf, and the goals we scored were of such high quality, that it tells you what level this team can reach when it hits top form…
Yep…that is a fair enough point.
It certainly feels like we were at a level last night well below where we want to be.
We expect a lot…and with good reason. We have an exceptional group on our hands.
Most dogturd to me was the defensive performance…that rock-solid control we’ve been showing seemed to evaporate last night…I called it a game of basketball at the time.
Anyways…point taken. No so much dogshit, more a stinky fart.
Yup the defence really did disappoint me last night.
The reason why the defence was below par was TAA and Konate missing.
City minus Rodri
Arsenal minus Odegaard
Poor them.
Konate is a massive loss for us.
@SBYM reacts that was prolly because he is emotionally immature. Once you take that into account, this forum makes more sense.
I’d agree we were much improved offensively in the second half. The defense was troubling in both halves, I thought, albeit mostly (not entirely) due to injuries and rust.
The result is mainly due to the absence of Konate due to injury and all the blaming game on Nunez was a bit OTT he only received the ball twice and one of those he arrived late to tap it in, he worked his socks off defensively even the newspapers suggested nobody wanted to pass to him. Kelleher misjudged the flight of the ball and thought it was going out and as someone else said he will not make the same mistake I would think he has earned a bit of credit for the number of times he saved our hide. Hughes and co should get their finger out and try and help Slot continue his splendid work so far by starting with the contractual négociations with our three players and get a decent CH to replace Konate and a LB to relieve Robbo and the crocked Tsimikas.
With the back four depleted it was open season at the back and Virgil was left to plug holes it was like trying to squeeze a balloon.
Good points except for this.
By all accounts the negotiations for all 3 has been ongoing for quite some time.
Not sure why we need to replace Konaté, and I think we need to start thinking long and hard about the future of the left-back position. I’m not sure if we have any kids in the academy who have a real pathway to emulate Bradley but on the other side, but I might be wrong. I think @Sweeting will have a better idea though.
And I should add the Newcastle supporters reffed the game, Trent was only on the pitch two minutes when he got a yellow his face showed his bewilderment at the decision, similarly with the MacAlllister yellow etc.
I want that diving cunt Gordon to get properly tackled by Bradley when they come to Anfield.
