There was a clip from another angle and he definitely gets his legs before the ball.

Itā€™s a definite foul, but it is a yellow card offence. Isakā€™s touch has taken him away from the goal, not towards it, so it isnā€™t a ā€œclearā€ goal scoring opportunity.

Once again: shocking decision.

I canā€™t see them appealing that one. Its too much open to interpretation.

wouldnā€™t even say itā€™s a yellow card offense given by the blatant fouls being conveniently ignored nowadays

Isak never touches prior to be contacted by Virgil.

Casemiro , Rodri do that shit 10 times a game.

Joelinton should have had about five yellows before he actually got one.

My bigger issue with the foul was Van Dijkā€™s decision to try a risky play on the ball instead of defending Isak using his pace and strength.

That was lazy defending.

It depends on that rule if the guidance is the same for outside the box as it is for inside they will appeal it.

What the ā€¦? And Trent gets the booking??? :see_no_evil: :flushed: :rage:

Donā€™t actually mind VVD trying to do that. Heā€™s the most conservative of defenders as it gets w.r.t tackling. Only tackles when itā€™s necessary.

Watched it with German commentators, Rene Adler and the commentator thought the yellow card for Trent was a joke and the red card for VvD shouldā€™ve been a yellow. Agree with that.

Okay; so where is his movement going? It is not towards the goal. At best, heā€™s moving towards a position where he can square the ball into the six-yard box.

It is categorically not a goal scoring opportunity.

Up their sandcunts arse. Hopefully , we get the direct Red reversed.

So the referee thinks the striker on a wide angle is going to beat the worldā€™s best keeper at that time.

No; the referee either:

a) doesnā€™t have a clue
b) has an agenda
c) both of the above

Thats a none point in the argument. The send off is preventing the ability to have a goal scoring chance.

Itā€™s not a goal scoring chance given where the striker is moving towards. By the time Isak squares up , there are liverpool defenders blocking whoever he wants to pass the ball too

What did everyone think of Jarell Quansah?

I have to admit that I wasnā€™t paying too much attention to him but things seemed to turn around after he was on. Certainly, he didnā€™t make things worse.

Given that we are a bit short at CB at the moment he may well get a few more minutes.

Im not sure what guidance you are on about. This was denying a goal scoring opportunity.
