Post Match | Newcastle vs Liverpool | Sunday August 27th 16:30h

It’s the kind of crap i can do without. For any team or player. You can disagree with a call without sticking your finger in refs face calling him obscenities. Exactly the behavior we’d point out on other teams while calling the player a choice name. VVD is double the size of the ref and getting in his personal space and trying to intimidate and throw insults his way isn’t the proper way to conduct yourself. I don’t care how egregious you think the call was.

Mac red was overturned. Zero chance Virgil’s is after his display, and he earned himself likely extra games in street clothes.

Fucking state of some of you. “Ooh he deserved it though” and similar shite. Just fuck off. And then fuck off some more.

Whatever he said to that fucking cheat was spot on. Should have been said by senior members of this football club a long, long time ago. These cunts have been given free rein to shaft us in every way imaginable for years. Said it at the start of last season, the biggest mistake this club made was not publicly calling out Kavanagh for the fucking cheat he is after he cost us the title. Since then they’ve stepped it up even more to the extent they can assault our players on the pitch knowing full well they’ll get off scot free.

At this point there is simply no fucking point in this football club attempting to compete. It really is that simple.

I’m proud of VVD for what he said on Sunday. Actually showed some balls. He’s our fucking captain so show him the respect he deserves.

Fuck off dickhead.

I agree he’s wrong and shouldn’t have done it. He will be punished for his mistake and rightly so.

Question is, will the referee be held accountable for his mistakes that undeniably contributed to the out pouring of frustration and will the same scrutiny and punishment follow for all players who do something similar?

Based on the complete inconsistency in the way matches are being officiated and the fact that one of officials who failed to overturn Mac Allister’s was put in charge of VAR for this very game it would suggest not.

I’ve no issue if he gets another game added provided the same happens for the next guy too. And some kind of accountability for poor officiating wouldn’t go amiss either.

Webb has been pretty cut throat on “poor” officiating. The big issue is his perspective on what that means is completely different to that of the average fan.

You’re wasting your time fella. None of it will happen.

We should all accept being shafted every fucking game and berate our captain for having the balls to tell them what he thinks.

If you search around, general consensus is you could give a red for that challenge, so doubt it. His overall performance was pitiful, no idea how refs grade themselves or how they hold them accountable for poor performance.

It’s not his place to do that on the pitch after he’s fucked up. It will literally achieve nothing but hurt himself.

But there should be a time and place to ask questions of officials and they should be open to admitting to errors when they clearly make ones that have a direct bearing on the outcome of the game.

Sadly I think Klopp’s behaviour has put a target on the back of the club. The refs are just a bit useless but the FA will haul us over the coals because of his prior conduct.

Howard Wilkinson always used to drill into players don’t give the referee ability to make a poor decision.

There was a big long write up in either the guardian or Athletic a couple of years ago describing the assessment process. And just like schools that focus on teaching to the tests once test scores become the be all and end all, what you see is refs who are concerned about professional advancement the process changes how you approach the job and what you consider a job well done. It’s been posted on here several times over the years but is well worth searching for and reading for anyone who hasnt read it

That’s all fair enough but the way this football club is treated has gone way beyond any of that being relevant.

Like I said earlier, it is now pointless this club attempting to compete at all. We’re at a stage where the referees association/ governing authorities will do everything within their powers to stop us being successful.

I don’t know what the answer is but there is enough evidence of their corruption to make a compelling case. I’d like to see John Henry getting involved but doubt he’s arsed.

I thought the lingering on the pitch was fine, as we awaited the VAR verdict. The fact that matches are refereed in installments these days - from people there on the pitch, and other people who are not there because they are in an booth, many miles away, adds to the delay and the scope for people to express disagreement in the heat of the moment.

It’s a byproduct of the shitty situation they have devised.

I expect a one game ban, plus another game added for dissent.

At that point we need to highlight all the instances to follow, from this point on, where others do the same, or much worse, to referees and it goes unpunished.

As we have seen before, zeal for new initiatives at the start of the season fizzles out, and before long it will be business as usual. In the meantime, we are being whacked, disproportionately.

It makes the win all the more sweet.

What shits me to tears is how all the other sides are one eyed about every 50-50 we get yet our manager and backroom staff are hopeless at getting our grievances out there. Personally I want out boys to start rolling around and milking everything and also have someone come out in the press before the game and targetting a couple of opposition players and put the refs on notice about their fouling. At the same time FSG need to hire some private investigators and ex seal types to intimidate and go as far as necessary to scare the refs. I expect something like this and/or payments from certain teams is already occuring and sadly we are mugs if we don’t.

TBF, if you want it done properly you’ll need the British Army.
Common knowledge that step #1 in the US Army handbook is “Call the British Army”.

Maybe bring back Jen Chang and put him on the intimidation job?

What get’s on my nerves with the ‘fair minded’ fans is the enthusiasm to agree with the red card, calling out VVD for a ‘stupid challenge’, he deserved it etc etc.

In my mind, it could have gone either way. Except if it was our player, it would have been 100% play on. And that’s what grates with the ‘fair minded’ fans.

Gordon’s push on Trent was dangerous/reckless. Trent then gets á yellow. It beggars belief how a ref can make that call.

You pause that sequence of play when Trent is sprawled on the floor and ask anyone, what decision was made? 100% of fair minded, sane people would say a yellow for Gordon.

Yet, Not a peep from the usual suspects. I get Jafford’s frustration.

By the way, the only thing Klopp has done to put a target on our backs was get us back in the title fight again on a regular basis. We have to win despite the refs. And it’s always been that way. It’s impossible to take the decisions out the refs hands 100% when they’re itching to dish out a decision to favour the other team.

Well, in real-time I was pretty sure VVD was going to go off. But I was also livid at the non-call on Gordon’s shove being followed up with a yellow to TAA. While less consequential, I thought that was a far worse call.

If that was what happened whenever cheaty did the same (ala Kompany on Salah which cost us the title) or ManUtd or Chelsea or Arsenal then I could see your point. The problem is there is no way in hell that would ever end up that way. We are systematically fouled, kicked and injured without any sanction on the opposition while we are routinely the subject to from borderline to egregiously unfair decisions. It’s actually a trope now that anytime a decision goes against us ppl are clambering to find a justification for it whereas anything we should have gotten but don’t is completely ignored. The club must do something to change this and I’d start by gagging Klopp who really is hopeless at prosecuting out case. He should be taken off pre and post match duties and we should have a little animal lawyer Mourinho type cunt replace him and emphasise every single non favourable decision plus the club need to pay journalists to prosecute their case. I’d also go the dark arts too but understand that some would find that too unsporting - my view is if you’re competing against doping hydrocarbon scum then you have to break a few eggs.

What gets on my nerves is the blinkered fans who never look at a decision objectively for both sides.

You slated me for saying and explaining why it was a red but never mentioned or commented on how in the in-game thread and subsequent threads I have berated the referee for not giving the blatant foul by Gordon on Trent, get that decision right and the game is easy.

My in-game post

“Shit reffing has started already how that wasn’t a foul on Trent is unbelievable”
