Post match: Nottingham Forest v Liverpool (EPL 2/3/24 3pm)

Yup it’s a foul and a yellow card.

this is ridiculous.

the game is getting trump levels of fact manipulation.

its really actually off putting that no matter what you do, people pretend its cheating (not just an LFC trend. but across all clubs)

to finish such a blatant manipulation of what happened with the full stop of ‘no words’, is pathetic.

yes there are words, and they are, the head injury had nothing to do with the result…

i wont even enter into the debate about Konate not being the only player to feign a head injury…

its just pathetic on so many levels.

MOTD with no mention whatsoever of the stonewall penalty when Danns was being held.

Quelle surprise.

But it’s such a huge deal the Forest penalty claim and the handling of the corner situation, isn’t it @ISMF ?

Darwin coming in for lots of deserved praise 8:00 -10:00… from a Utd fan as well…!

Read all the comments, haven’t seen the game yet,so can’t add anything that hasn’t been said, but can’t see why Forest is going off their trolley, it is not as though Tierney has a lot of form for favouring us.

It did seem a bit odd the game was restarted with a drop ball to Kelleher when CHO had possession of the ball when Tierney blew up (for what looked to be a head injury).

If he blew late for a foul on Konate, then why wasn’t it a free kick? Either it’s our free kick or their drop ball, more incompetence on Tierney’s part.

No; it’s obviously more proof that the refs want Liverpool to win the league in Klopp’s final season.

Didn’t Tierney drop for their keeper when a Forest player went down in the box holding his head in the first half? The ball had been played by us back to our half where we would have had possession.

Seems like all they’re whinging about happened to us as well.

Think the issue was that they’re arguing that the ball had already left the penalty area (and the Forest player had touched it) when he stopped play? Because otherwise according to the rules Tierney did the right thing (shocking, I know).

Well regardless like the Spurs offside or the penalty against Arsenal, Webb can tell them it’s a mistake 2 weeks from now.

I think it is a foul, Tierney fucks up which isn’t a surprise in that. It’s just an absolutely shite law to be honest especially in this context.

and we are still standing. Players are coming back from injury, while players that most of us barely knew a month ago have stood up to be counted. We have a stronger team than we thought we did just six weeks ago.

Brentford may have finished us a season or two ago.

I have no issue playing Danns, Clark or others. I think today was a complete mishmash and just had to get a result. Gomez is not a DM but needs must, hopefully Endo can play mostly now and we can use it as a stop gap or rotate when needs be.

We are still far from out of the woods but it’s good to see two guys back today and one with a bang.

I assume it’s just Salah and Graverberch potentially until the break.

Just one more point on the “controversial decision”.

It leads to about a 5% increase in a goal, even probably less (in fact almost certainly) not giving a penalty or a legit goal for “offside” well your talking 80-100%

I assume that 8/10 pens must go in, it’s got to be roughly that. Salah’s who was taking it that day is around that.

It’s a mistake not something legit that VAR can step in on, a mistake as someone pointed out happened earlier in the game and probably happens about 10 times per weekend somewhere. They would be better moaning about the pen (which it wasn’t) or added time (which they contributed to).

If I were a betting man, I would have tenner on Forest going down, because their psychology is totally wrong for a team involved in a relegation struggle.

They have adopted the mentality of a team that is being uniquely hard done to by refs and that the game is out to get them. The owner (!) is on the pitch remonstrating with Tierney. They’ve got Clattenburg in to scrutinise refereeing decisions. It’s permeating their whole club - the boardroom, the manager, the coaches, the players, the fans - they’ve bought into this idea that they are the victims of a refereeing conspiracy.

When you’re down at the bottom in a relegation scrap, you can’t take that ‘woe is us’ mentality into games. You’re going in with excuses ready loaded, totally focussed on the wrong thing.

At the end of the day, they are arguing over a fucking drop ball. Liverpool’s goal came 90 seconds later, after five or six phases of play, and multiple opportunities to clear their lines and take the point. If they make this about the referee rather that their own fucking stupidity, then they might as well start preparing for the championship now.

Whenever there is a bad decision against Liverpool (roughly every three to four days) this place is full of posts demanding the club go to war with PGMOL. But ultimately Forest show why this mentality is self defeating. It consumes you. It poisons the fanbase, and pulls a cloud over the club. The only way to deal with shit officials is to make them irrelevant.
