Post match: Nottingham Forest v Liverpool (EPL 2/3/24 3pm)

Somehow we managed to find a way to win this game. It was very balanced football match. They had chances, we had chances. We dominated possession, but did not create enough. Forest defended well and managed to find spaces when they hit us on the break.

Our starting eleven was very experimental. Gomez in midfield, young and inexperienced Bobby Clarke… In attack Elliott did not have his usual stamina levels and looked tired early. Gakpo had a poor game, for such a big and strong guy his presence was not felt at all. And Lucho was really active, but no final product. Missed our best chance during the 1st half and obviously forgot his shooting boots at home /needs to improve his finishing, against Luton he was missing too many good chances/.

Kelleher was fantastic once again, saved from Elanga /could be offside, but he spared me the VAR check that could end both ways/, saved from Hudson-Odoi and his distribution of the ball was top class /I’d say he si better than Alisson in that aspect/.

VvD with another monstrous display, Konate was also very, very good. Today Ibou used the ball pretty well and helped the midfielders ion several situations when he advanced in Fores’s half with the ball at his feet, finding a teammate and starting our attacks.

Robbo looked shaky today, maybe he has not recoverd from his illness, but needs to up his form. Bradly loooked like the better fullback. Two of his crossed created big chances for us /1st half when Lucho was blocked by Murillo in front of goal and 2nd half when Robbo had a perfect chance to score/.

MacAllister was my MoM - fantastic both offensively and defensively, created the goal and looked like the calmest player on the pitch. Nunez with the winner and he injected pace, desire and power in our attack. Pressed well, his finish was top class. Special mention for Endo, Tsimikas and Danns. Tsimi created much more than Robbo, Endo gave us much more control, while Danns at least showed desire and guts compared to Gakpo. Szoboszlai looked rusty and will need miniutes.

And finally few words about Joe Gomez, the new James Milner. Started as a defensive midfielder, later was needed at left back and finished the match as a right back. Won the corner for the winner. He was not in top 3 of our best palyers yesterday, but he is versatile player, always in line to help his teammates, changing postion and he puts the team first. The ideal Klopp player and the natural Milner heir in our squad.

If a 10th of the 115 stick, could you not have all 4 - with city being “Ranger’ed” to non-league!!!

And the club doesn’t. It is us as supporters venting, which is fair enough.

If the club listened to us Nunez would be playing in Germany or France yesterday.

count me in

I’d have United and Everton in perpetual relegation battles without actually going down.

The oil clubs can be dismantled tomorrow entirely and all their records stricken off and that would be justice delayed

Great summary of the game

Here in France , the region most famous for oyster cultivation had a total ban imposed on them over Xmas (the most important season for oyster sales). The reason given was that a problem with sewage outflows posed a bacterial health risk. I’m not sure what the situation is now but there is the suspicion that the cause of the problem might be something much more fundamental , and potentially devastating to the industry. Anecdotally , you hear of many more people being poisoned. Both my wife and neighbour had recent bouts of illness.

I’ve heard if Oysters are to be consumed… safest bet is to ensure they come from Irish waters

Jürgen consoling his only unused sub at the match yesterday. Chin up lad, you’ll get your chance soon enough!

Jersey produce good farmed oysters too. I always only eat farmed, (no little barnacles on the shells is the giveaway), but even wild have to be kept in purification tanks for about a month before they’re dispatched (in the UK at least). It’s strange if there is a spike in contaminations but DEFRA should/will be all over it if that is the case.

Woodwork…and now they’re crawling out of it…

As bad decisions go it doesn’t even rank on about the 2000th worst ref decision this season.

We all know why this happening…Burnley V Bournemouth just now had two poorer decisions.

Will Mike Dean be analysing those? Clattenberg should go away and get another hair transplant as he seems to be failing to keep it on at the moment.

I suspect that this is the PGMOL leveling up agenda to show that we get decisions our way as well as again us.

It’s a good game to pick because it wasn’t televised in the UK so they can control the narrative. As I live abroad and watched the match live. I had to look up what the furore was. Apparently, it relates to the ref applying the rules of the game as specified on their own website.

Nah, my dream is thrashing them in the league…
Nothing (domestically speaking) beats the 7-0, those wins over City, the classics vs Newcastle…

If JK ever goes into politics, RWNJs will use this image to argue he runs a paedophile ring from the basement of a Liverpool kebab shop.
