Post match: Nottingham Forest v Liverpool (EPL 2/3/24 3pm)

Laughs from Surrey

Being from Yorkshire, my brother would call them scabs, a legacy from the miners strike and those miners from Nottingham crossing picket lines

Ironic for todayā€¦

I mean 5 minutes before that or whenever, the ref whistled Bradley for a foul on a blatant dive by Daniloā€¦ Klopp lost his mind and screamed ā€œyouā€™ve been connedā€ at the ref - maybe even came close to getting himself a yellow.

It was 100% the wrong call, but like the one forest are creating post game controversy over did not materially effect the outcome of the game. Had the score remained 0-0, I have ever confidence no one from Liverpool would have made a scene about it post game.

Sure, there would have been plenty of grumbles post game - but the club compacted themselves with a million times more signatures over Diaz ā€œoffsideā€ goal which was very material to the outcome and perhaps the worst referring decision since the beginning of VAR

PL just tell Forest, their team, their Manager, their owner, that the ā€˜dropā€™ ball incident did not lead to the LFC goalā€¦it could have been a free kick and a Forest man (Yates) sent off for dangerous high bootā€¦and as for the skin crawling so called fans who thought spitting at a 6 yr old was allowedā€¦ wowā€¦ban em.

I find it somewhat odd they knew what was happening. I have a feeling the cheat thing probably relates to the time when we scored because I would suggest a fair few fans hadnā€™t the foggiest what the issue was until the owner and his ref minion raised it in the media.

In fact I remember a lot of the intinal social media stuff was that we scored in the 99th minute.

A lot of fans evidently donā€™t know the game they watch, how many times have stages of play been mentioned since VAR came in? They existed before as well.

Iā€™m guessing the bigger picture in all this commotionā€¦ Nottingham Forest may already be gathering as much information as they can, to challenge the PL points deduction that is winging its way to themā€¦!

they can gather as much info as they like regarding Konate getting kicked in the head and Teirney taking too long to attend to a head injuryā€¦

after they gather that info the football team should gather info on why they coughed up possession so easily after that incident another 2 times (was it) when trying to hold on for a drawā€¦

after that the stadium security should look into how a six year old gets spat on in the crowd and threatened to the point the away team (not stadium security) have to rescue himā€¦

either that, or they could hold those enquiries in reverse like a well run organisation wouldā€¦

They will do the same woe as me bollocks Everton spouted.

Iā€™ve actually deleted my Twitter account.
Forest fans the latest set of plebs I allowed myself to be sucked into responding to.

To be fair, I do have the breaking strain of a Kit Kat

An incident relevant to that happened yesterday. City won a corner off Dallo and Silva ran over and took a short one quickly. The ref blew up and stopped the game so the VAR review that had supposedly been going on in the background looking at a possible Dallo handball could finish.

The ball had gone dead since the incident in question and then the game restarted. We were told after the SPurs game that once this line has crossed is a sin against God himself to go back and use VAR to review anything from the previous phase. Critically in this case, it was not the defending team trying to restart the game against the direction of the ref to get away with a VAR overturn on a technicality, it was the team who the VAR was looking to benefit. So if this part of the VAR protocol is so sacrosanct that even after realizing theyā€™d made a monumental cock up they could not correct it, why did this game stop and allow them to go back to the VAR review? Why has there been no mass outrage at the VAR sacred protocol being violated and punishments meted out all around?

Is it because while technically correct, it was face saving bullshit to retroactively justify them having done clearly the wrong thing, and that in future that bit of the protocol would be ignored under far more trivial circumstances?

But they said 8 mins added on and we scored in the 9th. Thatā€™s just maths. It proves we cheated (because we control the clock).

Yeah, those pesky rules, the ones that explain how this is a perfectly understandable and normal occurrence for more added to be played than originally indicated (especially when you have 2 players booked in the period for time wasting)? Pah! Rules are for nerds. We dont need to pay attention to those.

I know itā€™s bollocks but they surely didnā€™t know about the drop ball thing as no one reacted to that in the game.

Gibbs White seemed to be angry in the moment, but Im not 100% sure if even that was about the drop ball decision. I didnā€™t see anyone else though and itā€™s inconceivable to think that is what was animating the crowd that quickly afterwards. At least on my commentary the first they mentioned it as a possible cause of contention was when the red cards started coming out

It boggles my mind that they are contesting this. the video footage speaks for itself, Konate takes a clattering and goes down (at the same time that Yates does a flying front kick into the fray on the corner).
Tierney stops play just as the ball leaves the box and per the drop ball rule noted above he gives the ball to the keeper. over 90 secs later, Liverpool get the equalizer

not sure where Nottingham think they have a reasonable argument here, especially with their own time-wasting antics.

Youā€™re over-thinking it. Even if it is a cock-up on the part of Tierney, it hasnā€™t directly contributed to our goal. More than 90 seconds pass, Forest have possession of the ball at least twice, and have the opportunity to clear the ball right before Macca collects the ball and tees up Nunez.

The argument that the ā€œmistakeā€ to give us the drop ball has directly resulted in a point lost for NF and two points gained for us is false on itā€™s face.

Not to mention it went out of play twice.

Ex-Refs attacking refs to favor Forrest of all teams.
This one isnā€™t for us itā€™s for the EPL and the present refs to sort out. Iā€™m sure they have loads of dirt on these fuckwit ex-refs to scare them off!
