If it makes anyone feel any better, I have no doubt Tierney would not have given us the ball if he thought we would go on to score
I do think alot of referee complaints are based on the fact people donāt know how to talk about football in a way that is both insightful and still engaging. Its much easier to boil everything down to a referee giving a drop ball to a goalkeeper.
Given I live in Nottingham, I was glad to see them come up, cos the city could really do with the benefits of premier league football. As it stands there isnāt a team I would rather see go down. They are fucking vile from top to bottom.
This video of grown men whipped into such a fervour that Liverpool players and staff felt compelled to risk their own safety getting a woman and child out of the stands is shocking. But letās have it right. The club have encouraged and fermented this febrile hatred with their irresponsible behaviour. They have encouraged a culture of blame, conspiracy, and victimhood.
āFucking cheating wankersā shout the red faced fans of a club who have admitted to breaking financial fair play regulations. This shit writes itself.
Most of you wonāt know this, but there is a local row brewing around the development of the area around the City Ground/Trent Bridge. Previously there had been an agreement in place for the City Council to put some funding in to help with the development. However, as the government have slashed funding, the council has declared bankruptcy, and is cutting loads of essential services to the bone.
As youād expect they canāt afford to put money into the development of the area, and the club has had a shitfit around this. They have lobbied and mobilised local MPs (including my insipid bog standard issue Tory bint) to pressure the Council, and started petitions and calls to action demanding the money - from a council that cannot currently afford to keep open public toilets.
There is something profoundly morally bankrupt about a football club pressuring an actually bankrupt local authority to put money into redeveloping the area around their ground, when that same club has flushed millions upon millions of pounds down the toilet on shit footballers.
I hope the go down, and keep going until they find themselves in league two. Horrible, horrible bastards.
From now on these twats (ex refs) need to complain about any mistaken throw in/corner that leads to a goal within 2 minutes, no matter how many times the ball subsequently goes out of play.
This whole episode is starting to remind me of that time that one of the officials twatted Robbo and this was, apparently, all Robbo and Liverpoolās fault. I mean the match officials are probably delighted at the moment because it takes the focus away from them failing to (checks notes) even award a free kick for kicking someone in the fucking head.
I remember taking my then five year old son to watch Forest. This was when they were in the championship and couldnāt fill the stadium, and were giving away tickets to local schools. We sat in the āfamily enclosureā. My son learnt some interesting new words from the man sat behind us (with his son)
āDaddy, whatās a cunt?ā, he asked on the bus home.
Neville is absolutely right to say that, at some point, this culture (that has noticeably gone up a notch this season) has got the potential to end up with someone hurt.
What was Marinakasās plan when he was trying to force his way into Tierneyās room? What did he want to happen at that point?
Serious question ā¦ would we have been magnimous and accepted it as a genuine error if that had gone against us or reacted like Forest fans who believe it is yet further evidence against Tierney and PGMOL? I am genuinely curious to know.
Of course we would have been up in arms. Thatās not the point being made. Itās one thing for fans to fume a bit, but abusing a fucking 6 yr old child is never okay for any reason. Well, unless the child is a bit of a cunt, I suppose, but thatās rare.
Also, While I would expect us to sit here and claim ref bias against us and how theyāre costing us the league, I would never expect fucking John W Henry to run out onto the pitch seeking out Tierney, and then to go and stand outside Tierneyās room after the match to intimidate him. Claiming any kind of equivalency here is bollocks.
Iāve seen Liverpool score a goal, have VAR agree it was a goal, and then the goal not get awarded. Iāve seen a linesman elbow our player in the face. Iāve blatant handballs ignored in the box. Iāve see our players get wiped out by studs up, knee high tackles. Iāve seen Mo Salah struggle to win a free kick with three lads dangling off his neck.
I think Iād be fine with it. For me it ranks alongside a throw in or corner awarded incorrectly. Iād have been pissed off, and I can understand why Forest are pissed off.
But nothing more than that. There were worse decisions just in that match.
Some would overreact, while others wouldnāt. As always on a football forum.
That being said, the reaction from Nottingham Forestās officials, players, some fans is disappointing to say the least. The only one to show dignity on that occasion was Nuno.
As for Clattenburg and Mike Dean, they were miserable refs in their time, and their freshest comments only serves to prove it. Surprisingly, Nevilleās comments are spot on.
If you were compiling a list of the worst refereeing decisions of the season, this wouldnāt crack the top 100. Itās really weak stuff from a club that now seems hardwired to see injustice and conspiracy everywhere.
Itās good that there have been a few voices now countering the idea that Liverpool scored from the mistake.
Yeah I said 1000 but having seen the 2 minute clip. I think youād find at least 2000 this weekend worse than this, as others have said there were about 4-5 worse decisions in the game and one that was exactly the same but the other way around.
Fans of a club from a town with bankrupt city council, and with a higher unmployment rate than the city of liverpool, gleefully singing āsigh onā from the first minute. Cunts
A lot of councils are bankrupt or facing it, Iād leave that off the criticising.
Thatās thanks to a centre government obsessed with austerity that cut them to the bone, yes financial mismanagement plays a part, but I wouldnāt want to be a local councillor any day of the week.
