Post match: Palace v Liverpool (EPL 27/9/25 3pm)

Well observed.

Yep. Hate seeing the team play like shit and I’m disgusted when we lose playing like shit.

Tbo I didn’t see much of it because of stream, I suppose we lost the first half and drew the second.

Just watched the game, very disappointing result, well played Palace, deserved it on chances and if it hadn’t been for Ali we would have been beaten handsomely, although Henderson also had a great game for them.

A lot of poor performers out there and maybe harsh to single one out but Ibou was terrible and I think he should have been replaced in the 1st half, for a ‘big strong CB’ he is so easily bullied and then there is his positioning and awareness or lack of. He did improve 2nd half when he actually attacked the ball rather than wrestling.

Also, Arne needs to look a players performance and no player is untouchable, if Mo is having a poor game then replace him.

We have to improve our performances, also I am a little lost in our defensive set up, as we had neither had a press or a good mid/low block.

I think that our performances/results when Mo and Sadio have been at afcon have been very good?

Double edged sword, Trents delivery was definitely missed today but their runners in the channels and his recovery running wouldn’t, although apart from Szob, the other 2 full backs were poor.

but yet we won all those game…

incidentally…

Bournemouth are a good team, 5th in the league at the moment,

Burnley defended really well in that game (great defensive record last season to)

Newcastle away, tough 2nd game of the season,

Athletico just thumped Madrid 5-2

and we played a 2nd string team against Southampton with 2 x 17 year old(?) kids in team

yes we were poor today, but credit to Palace they out played us today

or maybe you expect us to just rock up to every game and have the opposition roll over for us?

thank fuck Amorim is still in charge at Man Utd,

it takes my mind off how appalling we have been this season…

was driving and listening in on the radio for the game

seems like a classic tale of two halves.

maybe in the greater scheme of things getting done instead of scraping a point is a better outcome, a point just papering over the cracks.

they sound like a cracking team this palace team, its a shame we played them now on a hot streak, its hard to imagine they keep it going all season, and when we want them to take points off our rivals they might not be in such a good place

Mo looks like he needs a sobering spell on the bench…

be interesting to see how Slot reacts to this…again, the difference between a loss and a draw is just one point, but the difference in our reaction could be worth a lot more, we all would accept a point away to palace as the form goes now… so bigger picture stuff.

awesome to see the extra time go over by 90 seconds…nothing to see there…also, without seeing any footage, how close to being offside was it?

Sad to lose. Sad about the performance too, as we haven’t had a good game yet on that front. We did carve out some chances, and the second half was much better, but after Alisson kept it to only 1-0 in the first half we can’t really complain about the loss.

What happens next is key. Will we use the hurt of the loss and kick on? If so, it could be a useful sting for us over the long haul. But if we carry on as we have been, we are inviting more dropped points.

I’m still very hopeful for the season ahead. There is more to come from a few of them. It hasn’t clicked yet but when it does, watch out! The key will be staying there or thereabouts until we play ourselves into form.

I don’t want to be that poster who only shows up when we lose, but I do think we are in more trouble than the results may suggest. Henderson just did what was required of him, while Alisson was heroic, says all about this match.

Agree completely with Notasuperfan, again and again this season the full backs are inverted with Salah and Gakpo being wide, and we lose all width in attacking, because they tend to drive inside too while Kerkez can’t move up and cross in which is his strength. Man City just put 4 against Burnley with low balls into the box constantly, while we kept being outnumbered on the flanks and huffing about from distance. Wirtz is drifting everywhere in midfield yet not connecting with anyone, Macca is like final season Fabinho, our long balls without Trent are quite bad, and we can’t rely on Jones when the match needs to be played faster. Not a lot of control in midfield, hence losing balls and getting slapped back when leading.

Only good performances this season so far are Bournemouth, Everton first half and Atletico. The pressing in the Atletico match was excellent. I hope Slot stops the inverted full backs, and figures out how to control match again. We play like Ange’s Nott Forest at the moment.

I’m curious as to why Arne went 4-2-2-2 in a tough away game. Guess it looked good in training.

Played like buffoons for 6 games, 15 points. The issue is not the loss, the issue is the 6pl games we have played and limped over the line. We could maybe get away with 3, but 6? Arne need to sort this shit out, why are we playing like this?

Konate 100% going to RM. This is exactly how taa played for the entire season.

If I was RM I’d avoid Konate at all costs. Doesn’t offer a damn thing attacking. Shit on corner kicks, shit dribbling and carrying the ball forward and gets man handled far too easily by big forwards. We seriously missed out on Guehi. Guehi would be starting over Konate easily.

Awful first half. Thank god for for Alisson, otherwise that first half could have been a real embarrassment, similar to that game against Villa under Klopp.

Second half was better but not at all humming this season. As far as results, if we were going to lose one of our first 6 games, rather it be this one than against Arsenal, Everton or Newcastle.

My biggest concern so far this season is Salah. Just looks completely disconnected from our play. The loss or Diaz, Nunez, Trent and (tragically) Jota I think is impacting Salah more than others. He looks like a new player trying to integrate into the side, he’s struggling in the same way that Wirtz is struggling.

We also look exhausted at times, which is a huge concern considering we just started the season.

We’ve had minutes when we’ve looked good and Ath Madrid was very good but yeah we haven’t been able to recreate that for more than 30-40. I do have major concerns I have to say. Especially as the back line looks terrible on set pieces.

Fixed for accuracy. Bournemouth 2nd half we lost total control and came close to throwing away a 2 goal lead but not for an unlikely hero. Atleti 2nd half pinned us back too much, we showed some resilience…until we didn’t, and again almost blew a 2 goal lead but not for a moment of brilliance from the captain.

For some reason we’re unable to dig out a performance for 60-90mins, it’s become a constant theme.

Just seen some highlights. The shit Konate is taking online doesn’t actually do justice to how fucking bad he was. Another performance like that and he should be fucked off in January to whoever wants him although that might be an ever decreasing list.
Want to see a response in the next 2 games and DON’T want to see certain players acting like fucking over-grown kids in the training videos.

So going by your weird logic all those other teams can’t take any credit from those games. After all they had to come back from been 2 behind and all cases ended up losing.

What do you want them to do train looking miserable. Its time some people get a grip.

Only positive is that the Konate contract talks will only get easier on our behalf.

The lad might be begging us to give him a new contract by December.
