It’s the perfect situation for the ref - no over the top wrong calls, just bias in every interaction, which influences the game hugely (such as an early yellow; lettign one team be more physical but punish the other with free kicks).
It happens to other teams as well at times, such as Wolves with Nuno bollocking the ref. For us, it seems to be a pattern.
Shaq gets a yellow for a nothing 50-50, followed 20 seconds later by Milner getting wiped out two footed by Walcott, and we not even getting a freekick.
KWP headlocks Mane and wrestles him to the ground, but ref deems it a 50-50 play on. Rinse and repeat.
And yes, before some jump in and say “we didn;t deserve to get something”, we were shit in the chances created, but a shit ref also plays a part.

I think Williams if encouraged could do a decent job getting the ball moving forwards. Phillips probably not but at least a solid defender.
Klopp’s the boss but not having hendo in midfield was a mistake.
A strange decision to put Henderson at the back given we were unlikely to be troubled by them. I think that cost us. Phillips or Williams could have coped with what little they threw at us. He got that badly wrong…
It was bad but is it a crisis? I don’t think so. We will sort this. The talent is there but the heads need a bit of a reality check. You win nothing by basking in last years glory.
We have to work out how we are going to blitz this league and stop strolling about worrying about possession ahead of enterprise, quick thinking and individual brilliance. We have that in abundance but it looks like it’s being trained out by formula football.
