For those wanting a new CB.
Alaba yes.
A Caulker level player, then no.

This said it all.
Is right Jürgen.
He had a bit of a shocker, not right since his injury.
5 shots on target in 270 minutes of football says it all really… one shot per hr
I hope we play the reserves and lose. More games will kill us. We’re in a fight for top 4 and somebody at the club thinks it’s ok not to sign a CB.
First half the Saints pressed well. They swarmed Thiago, Gini and the centrebacks. Ox needed to be instructed to help out, but he was just running forward while we were pressed. Once it got out to TAA, he tried too many long passes which could be cut out.
Ox should’ve been more in contact with TAA to do more simple pass and move.
If we continue with the Henderson-Fab pairing, they need game time. That game is perfect for it. But I expect Klopp to try R and N Williams in that game, with Milner at left back.
And Origi gets slaughtered .
If we remain in the hunt at the beginning of March we will win this league.

We had been awful… Not just today but ever since we played WBA. We went from one extreme (i.e. clinical) to the opposite extreme (i.e. couldn’t hit a barn door). We managed 2 points out of the last 9!! This is bad.
Palace: We scored 7 out of our 8 shots on target - that’s being clinical and when everything was still perfect
WBA: Only 2 shots on target (out of 17) and we scored 1 - enough to score a meagre point
Newcastle: Only 4 shots on target (out of 11) and we scored none - enough to score a single point again
Soton: Only 1 shot on target (out of 17) and again we scored none - we didn’t deserve anything today. Ball possession doesn’t count and it never will.
JK has a lot of work to do. There is no speed, no creativity, no shots on target (this is the most frustrating: at least make the goalie work for it - we can’t even do that). I’m fearing what I’ve feared ever since we played Fat Sam’s team: he’s given all other teams the blueprint how to play us and you can see from the last 3 matches that it is working against us. We’re being stifled and slowed down and we can’t create or even get a bloody shot on target.
Jurgen I hope you can turn this around
I’ve been quick to lament our bad luck but that was just insipid. I had an appointment scheduled for right at halftime and I’m kind of glad I didn’t know the score until watching (most of) the game just now.
Looking for the positives, I don’t think we can play much worse, and if anything this puts the pressure more on City/United/etc. I fancy us to be able to get a run of games together, and I back our squad’s mentality and experience of winning the title last year, but whether or not that happens is an entirely different matter.
Which one? The handball or the foul on Mane?
The agenda is as clear as day. The club need to do something about it.
Our entire tactics is based on front 3 scoring atleast 2 goals a game. With Jota, we managed that this season and was covering up for the patchy form of Mane, Salah and Bobby. After he got injured because of Klopp’s wierd decision to start him in a irrelevant game we have gone down the spiral. Looks like the spiral will end only when Jota is back as with the front three’s current form we can’t score even a goal let alone 2.
They did press hard I agree. For the first half hour the pace of the game was frenetic. But our problem of losing the ball is not restricted to this evening alone. It’s been going on a while now.
Salah has been as guilty as the next, as has Firmino to be honest.
What can we do about it, you know we’ll be laughed at for years.
What do you think they’re doing now?
@cynicaloldgit Excellent as ever. As for the match, at least I finished the jigsaw. Well, all except the missing piece.
Is there any credence in the notion after all the moaning Klopp gas done about 5 subs busy schedule and all that players are believing they are tired.
Dont come all omniscient like you know what they’re doing; you just cannot ventilate this sort of idea, without extreme mockery. Okay they’ll laugh even louder. What I find strange, and a clear act of Beelzebub, is this refereeing bias always coincides with us playing shit.
Mane doesn’t give the ball away in the traditional sense what hes doing is running him self into trouble.
