Post Match: Southampton v Liverpool (EPL 4/1/21 8pm)

Can’t we give the team the season off?

No it doesn’t.

We have had to face bad arbitration since 1992; last season, we were just so fucking good that even corrupt officials couldn’t deny us.

Let’s not forget that we would have won the title in 2008-09 but for United getting every decision their way; in 2013-14, but for being robbed in consecutive games against City and Chelsea over Christmas; and in 2018-19 but for the clearest penalty ever not being given by Atkinson against Leicester and Kompany not being sent off at the Emptihad.

This season, we would be at least a dozen points clear right now if our games were referred the same way that Manchester United’s appear to be.

Alright, supposing you’re right, what do we do about it, cry foul? We dont get fouls.

I would agree Mane is being manhandled to fck every game.

Better performance in the second half, but ultimately not good enough yet again, we can harp about the ref and VAR in a Blue Moon frenzy but we are out worst enemy at the moment.

I get teams play narrow to force us out wide, but we are too predictable, Thiago or not, we need the 8s doing a lot more with the ball.

They are too static, permanently planting roots out wide and playing the same patterns the entire game not disrupting the shape of the opposition, it makes us too easy to defend against.

Wouldn’t have played Hendo at CB, but have seen the same issue with him in midfield with the slow ponderous build up and aimless long balls to the forwards recently.

We can’t just hope Mane/Salah do something magical to open up the game, we used to wear teams down, we look out of ideas and panic and lose the ball too easily.

Still find Ox to be meh, I’d rather try Taki or Shaquiri as an 8 until Keita decided to stay fit, I really think he is the one to sort out the lack of drive from midfield.

As cynicaloldgit said, they’re laughing at us now. Systematically fucking us and we say nothing. Season in season out. I’d rather we got it out in the open, made it clear we know what they’re doing, than just bend over and take it.

Pogba gets a pen for initiating contact, Kane backs into players and gets the ref “to make a decision”, Bruno…you can’t even breathe on him.

And yet VAR deems Andy 50-50 for the ball enough for the ref to give a pen. An innocuous challenge by Fab, with the naked eye looks like winning the ball, but with VAR it’s upgraded to a pen.

Handball by Gomez despite doing everything physically possible to try to get out the way.

I could go on

Henderson in defence means that he can’t be in the ref’s ear for the stupid decisions. Others need to be more vocal

Klopp did wonders for the club, but this situation is his wrong doing! I didn’t like his excessive use of some players. It culminated against Midtjylland. Kept MO thru the game…up until then, he played well and tried to coordinate with the others, and got Jota injured! He was our best player at that moment!
I really hate results like against CP. When man city did this results, I was certain they will eventually deflate. Pep doesn’t give a fuck anymore, just a simple win!
We have the best playmaker, but we still play thru the same gameplan regardless…Instead of utilizing him, he played more or less like a defender, not only that, he brings Shaq, another playmaker, but the gameplan continues on the flanks
The front three are depleted, that it seems it is too easy to defend against us…today we couldn’t hit the frame of the goal, not much different than against NCU
So much to say…but, thru his shocking choice, he “invited” this result. TAA should have reacted firmly, regardless of his assessment for a missed pass…I am certain, we would have lost this game anyhow!
The cherry on the top was the pathetic behavior of their manager, I can’t figure it out…something similar was against the bitters, Midtjylland, and few other games…looks like;- let’s kill ourselves against this fuckers. After that, what ever happens, happens…
If Klopp doesn’t change the routine against manure, and let Thiago inflict his class…I fear, there will be a penalty for them at one point…
Just a conspiracy theory :anguished: :upside_down_face:
All the best guys!
May you have a liberating year, full of freedom and love!

It’s been the same game now three matches in a row, but you say call them out but last time he did the decisions got even more baffling.

Something needs doing and he should have considered Minamino at some point in the past three games.

But I’m really at a loss what we can do, seems a slow rot has set in and now we are in a fight for top 4, hopefully someone realises that.

They’re taking the season off themselves by the look of it

We’re obviously not playing at the same level we were last season, but we should still be miles clear. It’s the refs robbing us pretty much every game and giving United everything.

We should have roughly six points more and they should have at least eight points fewer.

I’m not saying we’re playing well at the moment- far from it- but we are being ripped off every game while United get bailed out by the refs week in, week out.

Very poor for the 1st goal Jordan playing em onside then wtf did Trent try and do, he needs a rest to get his mojo back as he has been poor this season.

Dominated the game but final 3rd we just aren’t firing Mane tried everything and for me when he was thrown to the ground he should have had a penalty.

On to Klopp, why doesn’t he ever get Mo & Sadio to switch positions then when the beat the man on the outside, where they Southampton didn’t have cover, then they are on their strong foot to shoot or cross with more accuracy and pace. As people say we are predictable as the opposition know that both players want to come inside.

As for the ref, he should have given a foul/penalty when Sadio was thrown to the ground also a late challenge on Milly that wasn’t given, also why was that a foul on Forster when he dropped the ball he ran into Mo and his own player utter shite and many more that he wasn’t fair in awarding freekicks for the same contact for both sides.

We need a restart we are looking tired

We would be miles clear if we could create one chance… I’ll sum it up…

Cross hits first man
Run at the defence and into it.
Salah offside

That’s about the total sum of our attacking efforts. Yeah the refs are fucking us over but we are playing a part in the downfall. I really don’t think we deserve much more than 2pts from the last 3 games.

United deserve fuck all most games but get that lucky break that turns one point into three.

We don’t.

Shitty went through a period where they couldn’t put a run together. Now they’ve sorted themselves out defensively.

But which other team has had so many defenders out for long periods?

Even though we’ve been not up to par in the last three games, we were just a moment here or there away from getting something from all the games.

The scum are level now on points with a game in hand, and a moment here and there from them in this last three games could easily have seen them do points too.

But they’ve had the rub of the green, allied to of course the ref gifting them presents.

The swing in points could so easily have been the other way, even despite us being not in good click.

That’s more like it, you know, because we sucked.

IF there’s a chance to get a CD, we simply have to get it done…
We cannot sustain winging it for too much longer…

No it doesn’t. We just don’t need to talk about it when we win games.

:disappointed:
