I think itโs a fair comment on Gomez that sometimes the positioning isnโt quite second nature, as for years he has covered multiple positions. With that said, I think he is really good, and to my mind he has been playing very well for us when called on, almost all the time. Itโs hard to imagine having a better back up, and if he played in central defence for the long haul, I suspect any slight positional issues that occasionally crop up will be ironed out.
However, this is the Spurs post match and he was our best defender in this game and if you talk about positioning Virg made far more errors with all 3 goals.
No issues here. I thought he had a great game against Spurs.
Three goals conceded isnโt great, but the context I saw was not so much any individual error, but more a collective taking our foot off the pedal because we battered them.
Our defense does have a problem of getting somewhat complacent. Guess it happened twice.
The first goal was Mac playing for the refs whistle.
I agree the performance overall was excellent and ither teams can and do play well in isolation and score goals
Alisson should do better on the first if Iโm honest.
