Post match: Spurs v Liverpool (ELC 8/1/25 8pm)

Feels like we need a visit from @Maria

Thought it an odd line up before we kicked off. Got the likes of Endo and Elliott sat on the bench no doubt chomping at the bit. Meanwhile Grav is barely getting a break and Jones’ form has dipped.

Perfect opportunity to ring a few more changes, give some a bit of a rest and others a chance to play and stake a claim to be more involved in the more important games to come.

And another 90 minutes for Mo despite not being at his best. Meanwhile Chiesa sits on the bench as part of his “get fit routine” that’s seen him play 45 minutes in the last month since returning from injury.

Quansah injury is a really untimely one and the icing on a shit sandwich. Only saving grace is it wasn’t someone Slot actually seems to trust.

My main gripe is I wish Slot would have shuffled the side a bit to play a combo of fringe players who needed to see some action, and kids who are trying to impress. It’s a distant fourth priority, and a few of them are looking tired. It was a missed opportunity to get some rest into a few key players before kicking on for the second half of the season.

Their player should have got a second yellow and been sent off. It is so frustrating that he was allowed to stay on, and he then scored with Tsimikas off the pitch.

It’s only half time so it is very retrievable at Anfield.

Another observation is that Spurs ‘needed’ it more than us, although their celebrations might prove to be a bit premature.

Several of our players were below par, but I will mention one who was fairly solid. Darwin Nunez was involved and offered some threat. It might not be time to put him down just yet :joy:

One way to consider it is that is might be timely as we have 3 weeks to possibly bring a CB in, something that i wanted before tonight.

Ange is saying that if advantage is played and its not a cynical foul, no yellow. Wasnt his foul cynical then? Was in my book.

Ange dropped the just get on with it. If all things were equal you bellend.

That’s exactly what I said to my son we will batter them at Anfield. teams are copying manure and notts by trying to disrupt our rythm we did have chances though

That is definitely one to look at, as I’m not sure that Slot really trusts Quansah yet.

Are you moaning at me ?

Cheers

He is consistent in his hypocrisy

Good night fellow reds we will take our frustrations out on Accrington Stanley Saturday. :grinning:

See you Sport.

I don’t mind Postecoglu. He sends his team out with an attacking set up every game. I don’t think it’s resolute enough for them to threaten the big prizes, but Spurs have been hit hard by injury and would otherwise be doing better than this.

There is that I suppose but I do wonder who’ll play against Accrington now as Jarrell was a shoe-in for that game. We surely can’t go with Ibou and Virg can we?

I doubt we go into the market this window unless its someone we had lined up for the summer or there’s possibly a loan deal to do. With the Virg contract situation up in the air I doubt they go drop big money without knowing the outcome of those negotiations first.

Well we can’t entrust our season on the fitness of Konate and VVD playing almost every game if we want to win anything of note. A CB is a must this window.

If he no longer trusts Quansah then we may be looking to make that move.

No surprise no 2nd yellow for the cunt who scored. Atwell is perfectly happy to see our players fouled with impunity, he’s been at it for years.
Game reminded me of the Benfica CL game in 2006. Played in 2nd gear all night and then got suckered right at the end. Got knocked out at Anfield in the 2nd leg.
Jones has reverted to being Jones. Konate bullied for the goal. No idea why Harvey can’t get any minutes.
Throw in Quansah’s injury and all the usual fucking boxes have been ticked on a Liverpool shitshow.
