I’ve clicked on something I shouldn’t…post 62 Raven…don’t know what it’s done but a picture appeared…sorry…bloody screen on the thread was stuttering…sorry…
I thought we played this exactly like a 2-leg game and should have gotten a tie at worst.
Much of the disappointment comes from expecting a reprise of the league game when the context is totally different.
We played a conservative game…with focus on control and without huge commitment of energy…
Yeah the draw would have been a fair result I’m too bothered as with a better bit of finishing we may have won tonight.
Seems like it wasn’t an injury he has been feeling ill most of the week and it came back, so hopefully not too long.
Matty posted a link in the Injuries thread
“We don’t need to win this tournament”
Some tournaments are more important than others but we need to win every tournament we enter.
That’s the difference between winners and losers.
Thing is these last two games will be suggested as a wobble but it’s really seen very little change. Yes Forest have closed the gap but only to the position Arsenal were in and we are 1-0 in a league cup game. We can always come back.
Fuck the ref. That is all.
Haha @RER
Never been so uninterested in a game before. The team were basically first 11 and delivered a performance comparable to a youth team.
They didn’t though they did they. It was a decent enough performance to win but it wasn’t the best.
We really don’t. If we were winning either the Prem or CL every other season, no one would be saying “but where’s the league and FA cup wins, we needrd to win them”.
Going out and trying to win every tournament however is another matter.
Personally I would have much rather Slot rotated the side for todays game. Fringe players needed action, regulars needed rest, and kids needed a chance to show what they could do.
I suspect they would have been hungry and would have performed to their best, or close to it, and would have been very competitive with Spurs.
Agree. Especially the likes of Endo and Harvey should’ve been starting. My worry is that by mostly playing the same 13 or so players, come March/April, we could fall off a cliff.
I was a little bit surprised at first when I saw the team line-up, but now I have the feeling that this cup is important for Slot, it would be his first trophy with Liverpool and only a few games away. I can understand that, but for my taste he simply doesn’t make enough substitutions and keeps using the same players. I just hope that doesn’t backfire.
Edit
This result is not terribly important though it would be nice to win every game, but we can redress this at Anfield.
Like others my main concern is the lack of significant rotation could make life hard come March/April.It may be telling already like with Grav, had a decent game, but at times thought he looked tired.
Slot does not appear to trust some players he has,so we really need a CB this window,we cant rely on Konate and Virg for the second half of the season.
Ah, The Special Ones.
exactly, I keep screaming that the squad is just too thin for all these cup runs… ryan is looking tired, macca will be too and we play again in like three days. hope dom is back and starts. we need his legs
Still can’t vote for Endo
It’ll be better in the morning…
Except it’s fucking cold
And i have to go to work
It’s dark still.
On the brightside
Were still top of the leagues and in all the cups
Tsssssk
The squad is “generally” not too thin. We have enough numbers but haven’t been rotating nearly as much as we should be.
That’s a decision that Slot has made.
