Post Match: Spurs v Liverpool (EPL 28/1/21 8pm)

I don’t know if he was playing coy or just annoyed at being asked again about bringing a new center half, The Boss quipped;

“If you know someone available and at a good price please message me after this and I’ll look into it.”

Good performance, much more like ourselves.
Matip suffering a bad injury. You couldn’t make it up.

And please, no-one go on about Lovren. We all know if there’s four other injured centre backs, Degsy wants a bit of that action too.

And not while playing football, but having a shower.

Typical, after a good win, now Henry has refused any direct contact with the football department and klopp Has pretty much been cast aside.

Gonna have to buy a CB now.

Ankle ligament could mean a minor sprain, not that it’s been ripped to pieces.

Klopp doesn’t usually give an assessment so quickly after a game, it’s not as if he can know the extent of the damage already. He might be seriously injured but it’s also possible that was a message to the people above him.

What I don‘t get are football rules in the PL.

Dier clinched Bobby, imo first foul.
Then handball Dier, imo second foul.
After that handball Bobby, freekick Spurs.

And Atkinson himself watched it back.

Nothing more to add

Welcome back boys. Excellent game tonight other than Matip’s injury. 1-3 flatters them.
Too bad Matip’s out injured again.

The best team made lots of individual errors. But they were still the best team.

Great summary of the incident. Fortunately we won 3-1 and we didn’t drop more points to a dodgy VAR decision.

1st. Play on advantage given
2nd. Play on advantage given
3rd. Foul, no advantage to spurs

Seems legit until you account for the 3 second rule to see if an advantage was taken

That’s my theory on the sequence.

The Dier handball and the grappling aren’t an issue (in so much as the referee has already rightly decided to play on from from those) but as soon the ball hits the net, Bobby’s handball becomes an issue - because the directive is crystal clear that a goal cannot stand if the ball has touched an attackers hand in the build up.

The goal was correctly chalked off, and this isn’t one anyone can claim is corrupt. Stupid rule, yes, but Atkinson reffed it correctly.
