Sure it was, I know Hugo was holding his arm but it couldn’t have been that impactful and then for some reason he threw himself over.
Virg waiting to celebrate so he can boot the ball back into the stands after Rio’s goal
3 invaluable points, 3 wonderful goals and Ngumoha announcing himself to the world are the obvious positives.
Everything else was meh to downright bad. Defending was and remains a joke, in fact we seem to find new creative ways to sabotage ourselves. Game control also inexistent against a team with 10 players and 2 goals down.
Gravenberch, Jones and Szoboszlai were instrumental but Man of the Match goes to Van Dijk. He was peerless and thank God for that because Kerkez has been a walking gaffe so far and Konate is just asking to be punted from the first eleven.
All in all, while there was a lot to dislike about tonight, the win and Ngumoha’s sick winner that made these cunts nauseous will make this one stay in memory for a while.
Improvement is needed though. Especially with Set Piece FC next.
It was I think gameweek 3 last season that we lost to Forest and we all felt like it was going to be a long season. What that match did was pop our balloon and bring us back down to earth, giving the players a reality check. I reckon this match could do the same, with the added bonus of three points.
Last season after that game we went on an absolute monster run that put us in control of the league and we never looked back. Hoping for more of the same this season.
Yep, happy to get out of there with 3 points and as far as Im aware, no injuries.
My main concern about Macca is that Argentina have little regard for his niggles and will get everything they can out of him during the international break (presumably Argentina are playing).
Oh crap, I forgot about the set piece thing with Arsenal… it could be another long 90 mins
AS has got that one right. Said to my lad after an hour “this isn’t even a football match”.
Apparently the ball was only in play for about 40 minutes the whole match. I can’t remember another match with so many stoppages for injuries, free-kicks, throw-in’s etc.
Disrupt our flow, spoil our rhythm and it evens the playing field.
Howe and his 4D chess brain
“Never give up.”
“Fight to the death.”
“Avoid the actual game at all costs.”
Who was it making that stepover dummy allowing the ball run to Rio - was it Chiesa or Dom?
Dom
Stick it in the Louvre….
