A fan ended up watching the game with John Henry on his yacht

Kerkez, wtf was that allowing the attacker to climb all over you. Konate mis-timing his jump and gravy fails to clear it says it all on the state of the defence…

Ekitike scoring must have boiled the piss of the geordies to no end…

Short memories… the guy in charge of the infamous Spurs match.

He oddly started to seem to get a bit annoyed with them in the second half.

Going to need to order a heart monitor for the rest of the season if these first 2 games are anything to go by.

Probably because after giving them the rub of the green and then protecting their player who was down with a head injury and not moving by stopping the game they responded by chanting ā€œyou’re not fit to refereeā€.

Truly one of the oddest things I’ve seen a ref get slack for. ā€œHOW DARE YOU STOP THE GAME WHILE OUR PLAYER SEEMS TO BE OUT COLD AFTER A HEAD INJURY!!?!???!?ā€

I think fbref will potentially capture as a Shot-Creating Action but probably he will not get any credit from the stat guys (at least on the publically available stats)

Wirtz needs to bulk up more!

I thought Kerkez actually did alright besides the first goal. Did we really see much of Elanga?

Konate was worse, as was Jones, as was Wirtz, as was Mo, as was Bradley when we came on but I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt.

Fucking hell, what a match… although bit worried this season could go the way of 2014, entertaining but possibley ending in heartbreak.

While winning it late shows a winners mentality, shipping goals doesn’t bode well for what may be a very close season.
.
4 goals in two games is fraught with danger.

Wasn’t the reason that he wasn’t in the squad last night not because he was injured but that his partner/wife was having their child?

No there is an article on the official that I posted in his player thread.

We haven’t got a manager who thinks he is gods gift to management and yet ducks off to Scotland to increase his trophy load after every failure.

Wow. What a finish it was. Can’t take 36 more games like this apartment from the result. Had to drink a large glass of chilled milk to cool the stomach - lol. Stomach churning game.

Not sure I’ve ever seen so much time wasting and passing the ball around in the back from a Liverpool team.

Then after the red card and the 2:0 I expected us to start playing some attacking football to kill them off early but we continued with the above.

Exactly!

I didn’t mind them playing the ball in the back to tire out the opposition so that we could capitalize later. We really shouldn’t be losing possession so easily.

Would have been alright if we had kept possession. Instead we let them have setpieces galore when quite a lot of our players were missing. Didn’t even feel like we’ve had a man advantage except at the very end when Rio was left unmarked.

Did have the impression that Grumeires called him a blind piece of sh!t 5 or 10 to many times during the game.

Surely it is time to bench Konate and partner Virgil with Leoni. I doubt he can do worse than Konate. And hopefully Bradley can start vs Arsenal.
Mo needs to up his game. We can’t afford to carry any passengers against Arsenal.
Midfield needs Szoboszlai, Mac and Gravenberch.
