And what does that tell us?

His kata is not as tight as it used to be?

Have you managed to not have one until now. I’ve had to make calls as it vanished too quickly.

I’d like to think that last nights result can be the reality check we may have needed.

It’s not as clear cut as just having a wake up call or changing it up a bit.

I don’t envy klopp in this position, he can’t theow the baby out with the bath water here, as fragile as we looked vs villa, as scratchy as it’s been since the restart, at some point you still have to have faith in the process that has gotten you to where you are.

The fine line between too much arrogance and the perfect amount of confidence is razor thin.

You can’t put it down to a bad day at the office, but you can fix it by dropping twenty yards deeper and telling your fullbacks to stay square.

I’m thinking it becomes a two at the base of midfield for the derby.

Thiago and Fabinho/Milner unless Henderson is good to go.

If you don’t have Henderson or Thiago, it looks a bit drab playing two back there.

Probably the most intriguing league derby for over a decade?

1000‰ this. Anyone pay attention to where the goals were scored from, it’s plain to see the weakness that was Keita. Gini’s side had no issues

+24hrs is still too soon for me, I’ll be back tomorrow.

Agree too. With Bobby in midfield… I know there was justification for not buying Timo Werner… But given how poor the attack looks with Mane out and Firmino’s lack of goal production. Timo would of look good leading the line and Firmino behind him in a 4231… And Mane Salah on the wings.

Firmino best attributes now are pressing and passing. And it would serve well further back in midfield at this stage.

Werner is now a Chav. But the idea of Firmino moving back is an option I think should be explored. Possibly against certain teams or depending on players fit and available.

Fucking hell. The absolute state of some of y’all. Last time I checked we were still defending champions and our motto was you’ll never walk alone. The way some of you are willing to stick the boot in instead of supporting is man cheaty-esque. It was actually in the Rodgers thread after he got sacked that made me think. Someone posted: For a club that claims YNWA, we sure let him walk alone a lot. Same thing here.

We had an absolutely diabolical game. Shambles the whole lot. Losing 7-2 to Aston Villa is unacceptable but so is turning on the players who recently ended our 30 year wait. They didn’t turn to shit overnight and if anybody can figure this out it is our Klopp.

I’m out for a while, either support us or jump on the next bandwagon.

Definitely a abnormal game for us. Something wasn’t right as Villa isn’t that great. Hopefully it will be a great learning experience and our lads will bounce back.

If I was on the team I’d be really pissed and hungry to destroy whoever I played against next which should happen. Yes, they played bad but no team is perfect and with every team we meet now since where Champions wants a piece of us. That’s to be expected. We will rise above this as a team and as fans we will support our REDS no matter what!

I was a Denver Broncos NFL football fan for many years and let me tell you they had many crappy years from 1975 when I started being a fan until 1998 when they won their first Super Bowl! Some years they only won a few games but it never mattered as they had heart and never stopped fighting. So it’s always great when our boys win, crappy when they lose but you never stop supporting them no matter what. I damm well doubt if any of the posters here could play 90 minutes against our worse players! They’ll be back and they will win the PL, I strongly believe that! Better to get the shite beat out of you early in the season then later on when standings and points matter more. Never forget that ONE point gap from the 18/19 season…Last season 19/20 we destroyed the PL competition totally! We will reign supreme again!

I have to respectfully disagree with you about Mo’s game. After all, he did score two goals but I suppose you missed that, plus he did have another great chance but passed it over so he probably wouldn’t be called stingy. He usually has two to three covering him.

Precisely. On one side there was AV with a well organised christmas tree and a goal keeper blocking most of what got through (and in the 1st half we got through that well organised bottom heavy 4 decker bus on quite a few occassions). On our side we had what if it were Manure the funniest thing defensively since their vertical alighnment but as it was us displaying the shitshow it wasn’t funny at all.
i have noticed our pressing has gotten increasingly gun ho where even CB’s go running 20 meters up the pitch to press an opponent leaving acres of space for the opposition to exploit. You just don’t chase 20 meters up pitch to press your either in a position to press or your not and you respond accordingly. When a player from adeep position goes pressing it should be a signal for all and sundrie to close in on the same opponent someone needs to cover the space opening up. VVD can not do it alone and TAA and Robbo shouldn’t be expected to bomb around trying to repair others mistakes as much as they are being asked to.
It makes me laugh how some are saying Adrian makes the team nervous it really is the other way round when you look at how easy it becomes for the opposition to bear down on him. Oh! but then how is it the mighty Burnley can have Pope and heaton and we end up with Alisson and Adrian?

Even Alisson wouldn’t have survived that shitshow of a defence. We shouldn’t ‘do this’ to our players make out it’s all down to 1 individual. What I saw was a lack of communication and a lack of organiseation and more worrying it didn’t get better after 1/2 time and it’s not the first time.

They did make us work hard for our chances which I feel made a big difference however yes in the 1st half we played very well at times when in possession (our attacking was good until our heads dropped).

surely by playing a high line we are reducing the space. That’s is not tyhe problem the problem arises when players vacate their zones or not being aware of who they should be marking (in fact I’m not sure we do mark) which is happening more frequently. We see Gomez and Fabinho bombing up the pitch and Wijnaldum and Keita doing nothing to cover. It’s like kamakaze tatics.

It also requires the midfield to work their bollocks off tracking runners and acting as cover for Trent playing a lot higher up the pitch, which we have seen when Henderson si missing no one else seems to do as effectively.

It also needs someone setting the press upfront which normally Mane does, but with him missing Sunday night, none of the front 3 seemed to be able to effectively lead lead the press.

there were issues all over the place particularly in midfield and on the two wings. It was a collective problem.
However there is some truth in what you say Keita was particularly poor when it came to defending.
The problem is it was such a mess in midfield it’s difficult to know what tactic if any we had in place. If the idea was to have keita stay higher and Wijnaldum and Fabinho create a block infront of the defense then the onus would fall more on Gini and Fabs. One thing was for sure Fabs was ridiculous then he often is he doesn’t seem yo like leaving that central spot which means a team can easily overload one side or another and AV concentrated their overloads down our right flank.
Still we missed Mané as he comes back to help out Robbo and VVD which leaves a midfielder free to shift to our right flank with Jota we didn’t have that which surely caused some confusion.

Hi, I’ve been criticising shit performances and riding this “bandwagon” for over 35 years. If it’s OK with you, I’m going to continue doing so.

I was so annoyed that they let them run all over us, make a tackle, make a hard foul, make a statement than it is to here and not further.

I think that speaks volumes about one of the many things that went wrong Sunday evening.

Yes they bypassed the midfield in some instances but we never stamped any authority in that area at all. Naby is more than capable, he has a nasty streak if needed. We’re not seeing it.
