It wasa dreadful first half performance, but whatever galvanised the team they certainly upped it second half.
Naby, subject of a lot of in match ire was really 100% better second half.
And Diaz, so much more of a threat than Jota had been.
I have not seen that in a long time !!
Did it happen just once ? surprised it happened with just 46 people logged in.

Capoue was interviewed by canal+ after the match. He said that Villareal are not used to this intensity over 90 mins like Liverpool.
I guess they played at 200% in the first half then ran on fumes in the second. This is where a fresh Diaz had a field day against them. Maybe if Diaz had started the match he would have been tightly marked and inefficient
Spot on, both were very poor for the second goal. Felt Trent was poor all match on 1v1 defensive situations with some of his attempted tackles bordering on schoolboy. Thankfully he was good in the attacking half!
We played the first half as if we had been lobotomized. Klopp does his magic in the interval and the real Liverpool shows up. Came back from 2 goals down and made it look easy. What a team this is and what a manager. Letās just say that Luis Diaz wonāt be crying for reaching the final again as heāll get used to it.
Hopefully, we get the Madrid pricks in 3 weeks time after 120 grueling and draining minutes tonight.
For someone who hasnāt been to a game for a very long time , can anyone give me some pointers as to how you would best go about getting a ticket for Paris.
(Iām actually in France , but a very long way from Paris , if that would give me an advantage.)

Klopp said he asked Peter Krawietz to find one situation to show on the video to the players in the dressing room at HT āwhere we did it the way he wantedā. Peter came back and said āI couldnāt find oneā.
Huge credit to Klopp and the players for that 2nd half performance and such a dramatic turn around in performance and mentality.
I know others have said it and it will never be possible to validate it, but for me without the Diaz signing are we in this position today? I doubt it. What a transformational signing he has been in every single sense of the word.
Maybe Klopp put Diaz on at half-time with clear instructions to the other players to get the ball to him as much as possible. Thatās pretty radical thinking I know but I just canāt think of any other explanation for it.
Iām seeing quite a few people digging Jota out recently and I just donāt get it. Ok he had little impact last night but the whole team were shite first half and if youāre a forward living off scraps thereās not much you can do.
Itās a bit mad where Jota finds himself right now, vital goals all season yet he seems to be the one spending most time on the bench and coming in for stick whenever the team mis-fires.
Jotaās main problem at the moment is that heās not Diaz. Diaz is a better player than Jota and it shows when either start.
That said, some are going overboard with the Jota criticism. He had a good game against Newcastle and set up our only goal.
lol ā¦ I know Iām probably pissing in the wind , but ā¦ nothing ventured , nothing gained ā¦ and all that.
Klopp said after the game that Jota, up front on his own, was isolated in the press due to our tactics. They pulled this back, made it more compact and put Diaz on the wing to run at them. Canāt really compare Jota and Diaz last night as they were playing completely different roles.
That said, Iād love to see Jota look up and play his teammates in more often.
Paris, here we come!!!
Credit to Villareal for a fantastic first half. For them, it was the perfect display, which was obviously helped by the early goal, and us not being at our best. Two nil at half time was deserved.
But then, Klopp introduced Diaz, who was always going to come on at some point, and the level of intensity went up a notch. Thatās when Villareal lost their feet. They were literally asphyxiated by our high pressing and quick passing when in possession, and we fully deserved to score the three goals and turn the game.
MoM Diaz of course, for his high-octane performance and his goal, while mentions go to Fabinho (a real big-game player who came up with the vital first goal when it was needed) and ManƩ (also one for crucial goals in key moments).
I canāt believe it to be honest, it will be our third CL final in five yearsā¦ itās an absolutely fantastic feat. Still on for the quadruple as well. Six games to go.

Iām looking for someone to join me at the final. 2 tickets. Taking helicopter to Paris, dinner on Champs Elysees, go to match, then fly home after.
DM if interested. Preferably someone with a helicopter and tickets, otherwise we canāt go

Listen to Kloppās post match conference. He is very candid in there as usual. He outlines exactly the team changes to the approach that caused the huge swing in the second half.
Yes, Diaz was on fire. But apportioning it all to him is a too simplistic view imo. We could see the changes with our own eyes.
In the first half, we were too direct and trying to force the play. Weād lose the ball right away to be under the cosh again. Unless Iām mistaken, I hardly saw Fab pass to Thiago in the first half. Whereas in the second, we actually started to use the midfield, who would get into the half spaces to receive the ball.
What penalty decision? If you meant the Lo Celso one, refer to my 1st part
Yeah anyone who gets upset about that not being given as a penalty is not arguing from an honest starting point. Alisson does incredibly well to get there and block the ball, itās absolutely brilliant goalkeeping.
Fantastic result, once again we never give up. Itās going to be quite a congested fixture list in the next 3 weeks.
Wait, people think that could have been a penalty?
Seen them given
Seen them given
Yup, but then CL VAR would say to the ref go to the video screen, and he wouldāve seen Ali get to the ball first, and then signal no pen.
Then the liVARpool brigade would come out.
