It seems we have no idea on gamesmanship as well! We tend to play too nice!
Lots of things true all at the same time.
West Ham have some good players and played well.
We could have played better in this game.
West Ham were physical, and the ref and VAR were complicit.
Foul on Alisson clear. Antonio backing into him initially, bending over, putting his hip/arse out to impede, then cross comes over and Ogbonna has his arm raised to impede Alisson’s arm.
Cress well on Henderson clear straight red, not even a foul given.
Absurd, and Klopp should speak his mind for at least two reasons 1. For the good of the game 2. To fight for Liverpool
We will bounce back but that was a shit show. Pawson awful. VAR people awful. Lots wrong with that.
And yes, West Ham did well too. Good team with some good players. The atmosphere was good, after it being toxic there early on after the move from Upton Park. So well done them, outside chance of top four.
And if you want to know whether it’s definitively a red or not, look at Cresswell’s face. That’s the face of a lad who thinks ‘Fuck. I’m getting sent, here’.
If we carry on this way, it will be us having a outside chance of top 4…
Yes, we need to improve. I think we will.
Wasn’t that the one where Matip was completely missing or where he got dragged over to hold VVD’s hand rather than keep his position? There were 2 dangerous counters were Matip was a complete waste of space I just can not remember which one involved their goal. On both occassions we had a good chance of cutting it off if he was in place as our Midfield and fullbacks where entering the picture.
It looks bad…But seriously, the level of shit officiating in England is the exact same reason why there isn’t any English referees in 2018 despite England’s attempt to replace Mark Clattenburg. Goes to show how much FIFA thinks of the refereeing standards in England! I would expect again, zero English referees in World Cup 2022, given how the English referees can even bungle up VAR calls!.
That’s something I observed as well, he got sucked so easily by West Ham’s forwards.
I think it’s beyond shit refs. I think there is a problem with our club.
Look at the Van Dijk injury last season. Nothing at all for Pickford’s disgraceful tackle. Oliver even comes out afterwards and says it should have been a red card, but the Liverpool players didn’t ask for on. Look at the Elliot injury. The lad is on SM the next day saying the tackle was fine. STFU Harvey! He jumped a foot in the air on to your standing foot and put you out for six months.
And today. There’s a VAR check going on and Henderson is up and walking about and letting everyone know he’s sound it’s it’s not a problem. I think if the Liverpool players make more of that, and Jordan stays on the deck, it’s given.
We need to stop being so fucking nice. We’ll win the fair play league again this year to no great effect.
I’m one of his biggest fans but today he took far too many touches, although there were a couple of times where he ran with the ball forward, looking for a pass to feet or a through ball to feet and everyone were just too static.
Absolutely 100 times this. I was disgusted with Harvey Elliot coming out with social media support for the tackler. Don’t say it publicly lad, even if you think it.
We need to appoint a club spokesperson who speaks instead of Klopp and really goes the refs and VAR etc whenever anything worse than 50-50 goes against us. If said individual is banned we just replace him and ban Klopp from speaking after the game, fuck the consequences. You can be sure if the mancs or either plastic team had decisions like we have been on the receiving end of that the complaints would go on and on and on. We just pick ourselves off and teams know you can get away with dangerous play against us.
Even though that shouldn’t make an iota of a difference.
There’s a real problem and I think Klopp is really worried now after last season and this seeing what’s happening to our midfield. Time for the club and it’s ambassadors to grow some balls. Not sure about our players rolling around and such but some good loud protests would not go amiss.
One thing that Liverpool players should start doing now is pressuring referee into booking opponent players in such situations.
For fuck sake, we are out of the title running already?
Man City was 6 points behind us game 11 last season, still was at game 15 and we are top, then guess what, at game 20 they are instead top of table already.
Here we are 4 points behind, and we are out of running? Our team is no longer good enough?
We lost and that is a fact. We were not good enough and that is a fact. West Ham outplayed us and that is a fact. But what I also know as fucking facts is that if Klopp and team ever knew when to give up, we would never have won the CL and the league under him.
Good point maestro. But once Antonio plants himself as an immovable object in front of Ali, Ali ain’t going anywhere but backwards after that
No it’s not! They benefitted from our errors it’s not the same thing. On 2 corners we completely fucked up and on 1 counter attack. That’s not being outplayed it’s us not having enough concentration and discipline that they had for most of the match.
We need to improve for sure, it’s not the 1st time we have been had by a counter attacking team like this. To improve we need more patience and concentration and to not force it as much as we do (ending up with Fabs and Matip both pushing far too high up the pitch and other players making rediculous passes intopacked areas).
That is why English Referees are not fancied in the World Cup. A player should not be left on the deck crumpled for the offender to get booked…
Sorry, mate, but we were outplayed.
We had more possession but we did fuck all with it. Our shooting was woeful- again- and our goalkeeper abysmal, which is most unusual for him. The home side only had three chances on target, yet scored three goals.
Now, the ref fucked us over, too, as everyone knows- Cresswell should have been sent off but, as pointed out by @Mascot above, that would have “ruined the product” for the broadcasters.
We were shafted, as is so often the case, but we still weren’t good enough.
We’re no better than when Rodgers was here.
Lol. We haven’t turned shit overnight; it was simply a bad day at the office, especially for Alisson and Mané, compounded by piss-poor refereeing.
Just one of those days.
