Moved the ball about too slowly first half and there wasn’t enough drive from midfield. We were controlling the game but were too static in the opposition half. That changed as soon as the second half started and all 3 of Klopp’s subs improved us.
Jones played with intensity and purpose that was missing from our midfielders up until that point, that sub really changed the game. Firmino was really good off the bench and Ox did well enough too.
On to Brighton mid-week. I’ll be shocked if we don’t win that by a couple of goals as well. Looking much better now.
Nat Phillips my MOTM. Hard game to come into alongside Hendo against a good Antonio and a inform West Ham side. Controlled that backline with no errors. Won headers no other Liverpool player today would have. Mo obviously second to my MOTM with his goals. If Nat wasn’t so new to first team football he would have gotten my vote.
Look much better now from our previous run of poor form. Needed this before City. Defence, Midfield and Frontline and Ali all looked good. Hopefully Bobby is back now next week instead of Divrock and maybe Mane instead of Shaq. Curtis looked good when on aswell.
Two massive wins in 3 days. Still think it’s Abu Dhabi’s to lose given the number of points we had stolen off us to contrive a title race but at this point in time I’d take top 4, strengthen in the summer and wipe the floor with every cunt next season.
MOTM would under normal circumstances be Mo, yet I went for Nat. So much talk of dire need for a CB, and he steps up with such a solid and assured game. Yes, we still need a CB.
What can you say about Salah - he was more or less on his own out there today. Other positives - I was going to say Phillips had a very good game at the back but wtf was that missed header for their goal - he should have cleared that. Other than that, very good game. Same with Hendo. It’s a pity that we didn’t keep the clean sheet but who cares.
Negatives - Origi was better in the second half but he needs to go. He is not good enough.
All 3 goals were quality but the second one in particular was out of this world. Box to box with two pinpoint passes and a perfect first touch to set up the simplest of finishes. Amazing.
First half was good, second half was devastating. With the refs, with the injuries, with the worst of lucks we are still in it.
