Post Match: Wolves v Liverpool (EPL 13/3/21 8pm)

That handball really hurt on the night, and I still joke about him being a c##t but in reality, has was one of the best and i still hold him in the highest of esteem.

So you’re not a fan?

Mane not particularly playing well, but he works hard and is a menace to the opposition as he just doesn’t stop having a go even when it isn’t working for him.

One of the very few who earn the description mercurial.

A lot of people here saying how well the CBs did and i agree, voted Kabak as one of my MOTM. I have to wonder though how much of this is down to having one of the worlds best DMs in front of them. 2 clean sheets that just happen to have occurred just as we put Fabs back where he belongs.

Great to return to the winner’s circle and long may it continue.

I think it is starting to show though the way Kabak got back on Morgan-Gibbs White a guy who had just come on shows how much better he has been performing the last two games, his surges forward also seems to suggest he has more pace than was on show when he first arrived.

You should know by now that it’s bloody hard to get in before him ! It is borderline supernatural !

A real pity that long gone are the days, when new players were given a learning curve with the system, before being fully introduced to the first team. Nowadays players have to adapt immediately and hit the ground running, and if they falter, then it can affect their confidence levels, which can be detrimental to the team

A win is a win is a win. 3 points all count the same, they don’t draw pictures to illustrate how ugly or pretty they are. They all count the same.

I voted Fab MOTM, he was absolutely sensational going forward, defending, covering the backline. Smothering and bossing everything in his general vicinity. Vintage Fab.

I am thrilled for the Boys they were able to grind this out, it could be the start of a nice run-in. That said, I thought the performance was a bit uneven and there were a few chances, still at 0-0, had Wolves taken would’ve given the match a different complexion. Semedo completely did Robbo in the early minutes inside our box but shot it right at Alli. Neves teed one up inside our box in the 43rd minute (just before Jota’s goal) but uncharacteristically hit it wide of goal. Lucky for us Traore has zero finishing touch bc our boys, aside from Fab, had a really difficult time with him physically.

There was a stretch in the first half when we were controlling the play around their box and pinning Wolves back in their own end and I thought it strange Gini didn’t have a crack at goal. He never even looked for a shot and he was in decent shooting positions several times. Instead stopping the ball and looking for a pass. I’d like to see him at least have a rip from time to time when he’s that high up. He seemed to be playing deeper in the second half.

Trent was really good at both ends I thought. One of his most complete games of the recent run of form.

Sadio is working his socks off but his touch is missing at the moment. He’s really frustrated. I thought Mo went completely missing.

I posted prior to the match, it’s fun to see this CB partnership developing together. Still raw the pair of them and Fab helped them out several times but they’re doing everything asked of them.

Loved seeing Ox running in that false 9 spot or whatever we want to call it. We talked about that very thing back on TIA about a year or so ago, that it would be interesting to see him cameo in that role from time to time.

Hopefully the Boys get some quality rest over the break and come back charged, healthy and ready to make a surge at top 4. It will be exciting times!

Old school here, and a firm believer in Shanks, Paisley and Dalgleish football philosophy. One game at a time, and it’s not about thrashing teams and also not counting the chicks before they are hatched. Respect other teams ( except manure) and pass, move and play, always finding a red shirt and playing as a team together with the full support of the fans, come what may! YNWA

I feel like Thiago was a weak link this match, unlike against Leipzig, with too many complicated and inaccurate passes. IMO, he fits European matches more than PL matches. Jones should start next match over him.

A wins a win. We’ve played better and lost so take the 3 points and run.
Kobak and TAA played well.

Still think we miss out on top 4.

I thought he was dreadful.
Running around all over the place but not n a good way and constantly fouling. He should’ve been booked long before he was. I thought having fab next to him would improve him but it hasn’t he’s just as bad.
Not sure if it’s a case of trying to do too much but he’s ending up doing nothing.

Our four defenders all played well, that kid in goal looked nervous, midfielders kept giving the ball away, mo was quite at times, sadio very involved and jota in and out. 3 points all that really mattered.

I think the problem with Thiago is we are asking to do something, which he is more than willing to do, but he is just not very good at it. When Gini and Hendo played in front of Fab, you have 2 hound dogs who will run all day from front to the back and they are actually very good and effective at covering those spaces in between them. Now Thiago tries but tackling, winning the ball back, while he has the attitude to do it, he is just not that kind of player. I think to achieve the balance with Fab and Thiago, Hendo is the better player in the trio. Hendo just have that edge in terms of focus and consistency over Gini who is of course still a great player for us. But balance has always been an important element in our team. Unfortunately we will not see Hendo much in this season so Jones might be given a shot but for now, the trio that played last night is still our best midfield we have now.

The result we needed although I would have liked it to have been achieved with a bit more style. Having said that Wolves are always a tough side to beat Jota has restored some threat to our attack, hopefully Mo and Sadio will find their best form after the break. Did not think we looked like a team capable of climbing to 4th spot but fingers crossed. The MF that looked so good against RBL did not look so hot last night but CB`s did well. Robbo looks like he needs a rest and I do wish he would improve on his right side. Frustrates me the way he would rather pass the ball backwards with his left than forwards with his right. Slows the attack down.

I thought both he and Gini looked gassed.

Wolves last game was 6th March, so they had 9 games rest before this whereas we have had games every 3-4 days for the last few weeks.

Robbo is another who looks a few years shy and it’s having a huge impact on his game.
