Postmatch Galatasaray V Liverpool FC (10/03/2026 CL L16 1st Leg)

I can’t even get too angry anymore…my head would have hurt from the screaming at the tele. I’ll just use emoji on here instead. :face_with_symbols_on_mouth:

That was so poor, on any number of levels. We had no composure whatsoever. Our passing was woeful, there were holes through the midfield, the attack was toothless, Ibou had one of his worst games for us, and on and on it goes.

The lucky thing for us is it is only 1-0. Getting through is still very doable, but we will somehow have to find a performance from somewhere. There have been a tiny few examples this season where we managed to do that, but the bulk of our work has been so shoddy that we are not confident, at all, that we will find something.

I will tune in next time and hope for the best, but we are hard to watch at the moment. We are much less than the sum of our parts and I can’t help but feel we are in the final throes of Slot’s time at the helm.

such as?

At least I’m not Igor Tudor.

Problem is I would like to see what some of these players play like under someone new. But we would then need time to see.

Probably be facing a new manager on Sunday at this rate.

I still think, since we managed to not lose by more, can crawl through this round like a rotten husk of a previously good team. Then next round we probably fall apart.
But I think we get though, and that is worth money.

This is my biggest problem, the limitations of our players are bring exposed but none of their qualities accentuated.

It’s like TAA in Madrid. We made him look class in a system that allowed him to thrive. That’s no longer the case and he now looks average.

I can’t untangle the manager effect from player decline. I suspect the manager is having the overwhelming impact

We played like we were trying to keep it tight in the first leg ie ‘it’s only half time’.

I probably would have taken that tbh and I was glad we didn’t sub Gomez and change the right back three times in search of an equaliser that more likely would have led to a second.

Must go at it at Anfield.

hahahahah!!!..that part.

Not watching as in holland with work.

Id have taken 0-0 or 1-0 as they are shit away from home so this is winnable

Love ya GR, but I’d rather shit in my hands and clap than listen to yet another raft of waffle from that bald fucking fraud.

The bad: We lost
The good: we’re only 1-0 down

All of the outfield players were poor but Konate was a disgrace to the shirt. Some of the mistakes he made were things that you wouldn’t get away with on a Sunday morning after turning up half pissed after a night on the ale. We might turn it around at Anfield but I don’t think we will get much further.
