Just finished watching it due to work commitments.

Poor in all aspects, but the biggest take is how a player that is having such a stinker, Ibou, stays on for 90+ minutes is beyond me and I have praised him since he returned after his father passed away. But that was a joke.

Just sack him!

I think our problems basically come down to four points;

We can’t defend.

We can’t attack.

We’ve got no midfield.

The manager hasn’t got a fucking clue.

Sort that out and we should be fine.

If you remove all context, no loss by the odd goal is.

If one takes a closer look though and sees that Galatasaray aren’t exactly a juggernaut in Europe and that we’ve lost 2 out of the last 3 to significantly worse teams whilst playing awfully, then their perspective will change and not in Slot’s favour.

Yes I would. Getting a draw would be like putting lipstick on a pig of a performance. The result isn’t such a big problem, the performance and the lack of confidence going into the second leg is though.

We were much more pleased and optimistic after we lost 3-0 to Barcelona ffs. And we all know how that turned out.

it’s the manner of the defeat mate. It was worse than how we actually did push for a goal in the league phase of the Champions League away at Galatasaray. We faced them before and in this environment and we should’ve known what to expect. Instead we just shrunk.

I said before the game I could only watch the first half.

It was true as well. The Galatasaray defence looked really bad. But this Liverpool team delights in finding new ways to confound us.

Needs reporting that does!

You’re correct its not the end of the world,

But its another defeat for Slots team,
Coupled with a few players putting on poor performances.

This can’t go on…

Slept on it and 1-0 isn’t too bad a result given they come to Anfield with no fans. I just wish I hadn’t put myself and my 5yo through it

A draw would have been fine, I just don’t know what this team will show up as next wednesday. No one does, it might create a few chances and ride into the distance or it might not. Fact we haven’t yet scored against them is concerning.

And that’s it isn’t it ? No-one’s got a clue about the type of performance we’ll put in. We could easily dominate , go one up , not manage to kill it and concede in a panic at the end. It’s like fucking torture watching us play atm.

Right. Had a bit of a sleep, a calm down, and a little telling off in the staff room for saying bad things about our current manager (fair enough).

But genuinely, its a hard thing to talk about. We’re an awful watch - on a bad day, we’re dour and ponderous, put in a poor performance, and lose. Last night we were calamitous and all over the place, put in a poor performance, and lost. There are definitely parallels to previous regimes, and at the moment it feels like a perfect (far from it!) storm of Hodgson and Rodgers where we look utterly devoid of leadership and nous on the pitch, and are treated to excuses and bitterness off it.

World class players - who granted are the wrong side of 30 in a few cases - are playing like non-leaguers. Our current captain has gone from league champion to finger pointing champion. Our talismanic winger looks like he’d lose a footrace to Stephen Hawking - if said winger felt like even running. Our midfield is being strolled through time and time again, leaving me longing for the days of a Souness, Mascherano, or even Fabinho prowling the centre.

An entire team doesn’t change like this overnight. Some of these lads have either downed tools - which is inexcusable - or this is down to tactical intent - which is inexcusable.

We should have scored as even if Konaté’s as Konaté’s goal was disallowed we should have had a penalty.

I’m sure…in the slomo of the incident…it came off Virgil’s heel…so the commentators said the goal should’ve stood…but a lot of incidents in last nights game went to Gala…when they shouldn’t have…

That ref was garbage…regardless of our performance.

A lot of people are blaming Konate. Yes he had a bad game. I was more disappointed at Wirtz. He had 2 great chances to put us ahead. One was an open net which you expect
£100 million player to score blindfold. Salah was just a passenger. Riu should be starting ahead of Gakpo.

Yeah. Big fan of Wirtz, but not great from him last night. SLIGHTLY mitigated by him coming back after being out for a while, but should have put at least one of those chances away. Or at least hit the @#$@# target.

Absolutely agree that currently Salah offers absolutely nothing to the side, and is currently taking up space.

I think what worries me the most at the moment is that none of them really look particularly arsed about the current situation. Salah, who we know has given his all for the club, looks like he’s going through the motions. Its clear he’s lost a step with age, but prior to this season he’d still run through a brick wall and keep going. Even Van Dijk is more prone to wave his hands around in exasperation instead of leading by example.

Nothing, absolutely nothing that I see gives me any sort of confidence. These days, I expect us to lose, I expect us to play slow and effortless. I expect nothing but a boring game. I’m fed up. I will watch every game, I’ll support the club. I’m depressed.
