I think Firmino’s game play has been figured out by the opposition as with him dropping deep, the opposing DM, CBs and FBs can focus on nullfying Salah and Diaz which blunted us a lot.

Nunez is a different preposition against teams that defended deep and it showed today. Gave us our first shot on target today. Gave us our first goals and assisted the second.

I was really hoping Firmino would be reinvented in a 4-2-3-1 midfield this season. Finish his career in the position he started it, but with bags of experience. Still one of my favourite Liverpool players of the Klopp era, and would love to see him have a major role…especially as I’m planning to visit Anfield for the first time in my 35 years of following the club in all it’s highs and lows…

Mane is a huge loss.

He is a big miss no doubt, but if Diaz can continue his progression and Nunez gets up to speed as we think he might, I think we could be fine. Still, not having Sadio is taking away that raw acceleration and pace at least for a bit.
