Nobody is saying var should overturn the decision. It should however be able to be used to say in the refs ear have another look. Or the ref say, Can I have another look on the monitor to make sure I’ve got that decision right.

I noticed early in the second half we got a corner and their CB nudged the ball away from Jota (I think) as he tried to pick it up. No yellow though despite that being exactly what the new time wasting directive was brought in to address
