Yup, the passion is certainly there
Jota I’d imagine.
It was Jota’s very clever movement that gave him the assist for the Salah goal.
We are doing well but the movement of De Bruyne and Gundogan has just been too clever/quick for Henderson and Fabinho.
Other than the goal I think we are coping ok, which is just about as good as I expected.
Gakpo. Put Jota through the middle.
So whose going to try n mark Darwin then…
Our midfield is pretty shit defensively. Hendo had quite a mare for failing to track Alvarez and Elliott looks lost again…
Could see the usual $hitty spoil counter Fernandinho tactics in the opening 2 minutes, when Gakpo got away from two players tugging and broke free so the ref did nothing.
Rodri got yellow for a change in his blatant attempt, then followed that up straight away with almost a carbon copy. Bald ref not bold enough to show the second card though.
Don’t mind the slight late tackles not getting a card. Makes the game flow. It’s those obvious stop counter attacks fouls that should be an instant yellow.
Nothing new there.
A lot of space for Darwin to work with when he gets on.
Think Elliott has looked a bit lost. The defenders again collectively have looked shaky but it’s not been a bad performance so far. Need to compose themselves in the interval as it looked close to boiling over following the shocking decision not to send off Rodri.
Need to get to 60 minutes without conceding, then introduce the subs.
Decent half. We had chances, they did, 1-1 about fair. Mo needed to do better to square it to Jota as he would have been in.
Speaking of Jota, he has the Portuguese nous so he makes sure he gets his free kick when he is fouled.
City have a whole team of that, with more snide. So they are getting too many free kicks when a fair amount of them are just contesting for possession, but over they go.
Darwin Núñez needs at least 20 mins and if so, he’s getting a goal. Hopefully it’s the winner.
Elliott having a good game, his midfield detractors should note that. Gakpo doing well too, breaking through the lines with pace and strength. Rodri and others keep pulling him back, but of course, the ref lets most of it go. He was well worth a second yellow as he did it about 5 times.
Game on.
first time I have seen Mo lose it a little and he gets a card, and that’s after being constantly fouled in every game he’s played in
Just saw the footage of pep celebrating in Kostas face. Hope we score and Kostas does it back. Good on him not reacting
Gundogan needs a proper slap after that play acting to try to get Fab a card early on.
I think Elliott needs to bulk up on the top if he wants to ride the challenges in the midfield.
Yep, the swarthy pirate bastard.
That’s what I’ve been calling him first half.
See Pep celebrating infront of our subs.
shiteh certainly play-acting looking for free kicks
Should he not be warned or booked by 4th official…oh no…its peppy
