Pre and In Match Thread. Liverpool vs Burnley. EPL. Sat 21st Aug 2021. 1230 hrs

I don’t like his style of football at all, but I do think fair play its pretty effective until Woods gets tired!

Jack Cork may have injured Tsimikas today. Could make family dinners awkward.

Very nice, especially second half.

Tsimikas looks more than adequate, tenacious little fucker, very likeable, and Harv looks a useful option already.

Goal aside, Sadio’s finishing (or lack of) is grating, especially when we know he’s capable. Too often he can’t sort out his feet and/or feathers the ball ever so gentle towards goal.

Lovely to see Virg spreading the play from the back again. We missed that last season, as well as his more lauded attributes.

Only 36 to go, lads!

And for me should have been booked, long way for family dinners as I now live in NZ

They are 16th with a netspend of £10.5mil per season.

Not sure Kostas fancies a sunday roast in rural Burnley mate.

Strange now burley don’t play like that against manure, citeh, chelski etc etc

Henderson saying the performance was good at times and to be honest I’m with him.

I’ll comment more later, we created enough but we did seem sloppy at times credit to Alisson to be switched on.

Henderson basically slapping down the dick head comment from the bloke on BT.

Agreed - and I thought there were 2 or 3 other challenges more deserving of yellow so surprised with all the extra physicality there were no yellows at all.

Still a very nice win that feels kind of routine and easy looking back.

Since start of this season it’s now 9 home wins and 2 aways since fans returned. Last season home win ratio was only 43% proof fans do count.

They seemed to target, Harvey & Tsimi

Basically, another win that looked and felt routine. Burnley had a few moments, but we strangled them out of the match in the second half. Encouraging thus far.

It was good at times, and it’s often these kind of games that are the stereotypical “games of champions” kind of stuff. Burnley’s style is always a challenge for us, and we took it well. Not a game to remember, but just one step on the long grind towards a league title, hopefully.

I would say it’s better than it had been during that period of the title run a few years back but I guess those days will come.

Of course they did, and tbf so would we target the least experienced opposition players.

Both of them won the day though.

Nice 3pts, Burnley resemble more a rugby team than a football team. We didn’t let them bully us. Anyway massive game next week.

Currently at work and missed the match, seen the goals - they were decent. Good result as well.

How did Harvey play?

Klopp just had a bit of a rant about refeering standards, apparently there is nothing wrong according to Jake and “the lads”, yet Jota was wrestled down twice.

Nah, they’re everything that is wrong with the game as well which is overlooked because they’re ‘mixing it’. Cynical, theatrical and at times downright dangerous. They fouled and grappled their way through that game while at the same time moaning for almost every decision that went against them. Their general conduct was encapsulated by Gudmondson (however you spell it) and his theatrics and staying down for a prolonged period holding his face after a shoulder to shoulder contact.

Nah, they can get fucked and so can their manager as it all stems from him. Detestable.
